RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures according to CCL protocol. Functional as Cath.Lab, tech. /Cardiac radiographer to cardiologist, vascular and radiologist interventional during procedure. Monitors patient cardiac rhythm and hemodynamic values during procedures using hemodynamic monitoring systems. Assist nurse during patient resuscitation effort and preparation, movement during procedure. In addition, the primary function is to set up, run, manage and perform all duties related to the catheterization laboratory. To maintain all related equipment and keep documentation to support this Hemodynamic monitoring

CCL technologist rotation.

Scrub

Performs surgical prep and draping of the patient, assists the physician with equipment operation & device preparation. Includes sheath, needles, wires, catheters, stent, and balloon

Circulator

Moves around the lab during the procedure providing equipment to the scrub nurse. Attends to the needs of the patient as well as ensuring proper use of patient monitoring equipment. Assists in adhering to aseptic sterile technique. Monitor

Monitors vital signs during the procedure. Documents the procedure and creates a medical record. Records intra-cardiac/arterial pressures and waveforms. Is responsible for interdepartmental communications.

Observing and reporting a patient’s cardiac status alerts the physician,nurse to sudden cardiac changes and assists in Cardiac Resuscitation and defibration . Responsible for Patient Preparation including hook up of the ECG machine and ensuring proper positioning of Defibration.

Ensure all electronics equipment is functioning and accurate during cardiac electrophysiology and catheterization procedure. Contact the appropriate service department when equipment malfunctions.

Cardiac procedure requires a rapid sequence of images in several positions to ensure full visualization of the coronary arterial system. It is my duty to assist the cardiologist to get those views or projections like RAD, LAO, AP cranial, Lateral, and spider view. I also prepare, connect the power injector (if used), set injector delivery rate appropriate to the patient’s requirement and catheter selected, and initiate injection adaptation of technique in a real time situation which is required to ensure a complete diagnostic examination. Following completion of the examination it is my duty to carry out all post image processing procedures to produce the highest quality diagnostic image by using digital manipulation technique and then submit the image for CD or archive storage, PACS system. And in order to maintain accuracy of clinical records it is my responsibility to ensure that all records, compact discs. Properly stored for easy retrieval when needed. In addition, responsible and coordinating/ordering to purchase department items needed in Cath lab, like stent, balloon, catheters etc.

Experienced in handling different Angiographic Cardiac Procedure Coronary Angiogram, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), Percutaneous Tran-septal Mitral and Tricuspid Commissurotomy (PTMC or PTTC), Temporary/Permanent ICD Pacemaker insertion, PDA coil occlusion and PDA Amplatzer Closure etc. Interventional Radiologist Angiographic Procedure such as Peripheral angiography, stenting/balloon, Chemo embolization of Tumor and coiling of Aneurysms, Carotid and Renal stenting, Cerebral angiography, IVC filter insertion etc. Machine used:
