Owner / Manager
Ghedine’s Head 2 Toe
We were a full-service salon. We did everything from hair to spa treatments.
As the owner, it was my duty to hire the best team possible. I was responsible for training, ordering supplies, keeping up with the inventory, keeping the books, and accounts payable.
I took the most pleasure in being the Esthetician. I would go to every class that was presented to me. I often went to a med spa in Summerville, SC where I was certified in every machine that I purchased.
I closed my shop to return to NJ while my daughter was giving birth.
October 1983 to November 2007
Owner / Manager of Super Market Discount Liquor Store and Broadstreet Deli and Liquor Store: Located in Bridgeton NJ
As owner/manager. My duties were hiring and firing employees. Training in every area from (running registers, sales of lottery tickets, stocking shelves, and helping with deliveries to special events). I did all the office work including payroll (the old-fashioned way). I did all the ordering and pricing, paying all vendors.
I worked one-on-one with the different vendors for my products.
I started an after-school program to help teach high schoolers to take on responsibility and self-worth.
For most of my career, I was either a manager/stylist or Manager/owner in whatever company I was involved with.
I always gave 110% of myself and never expected my employees to do anything I couldn’t.
