With over 14 months on the road, safety is the most important aspect of daily duties. Maintain a clean MVR, no CSA points, accidents, or other incidents. Drive an average of 2,000 miles per week. Flatbed-focused, with loads including but not limited to: drywall, lumber, shingles, other various building materials, and some heavy equipment. Meticulously and carefully strap every load and tarp loads as required. Provide assistance with loading and unloading materials as needed. Optimize routes, ensuring on-time delivery. Take pride in cleanliness and condition of truck. Report mechanical issues in a timely manner. Effectively and positively communicate with driver managers, shippers, and receivers.

Responsibilities and duties encompassed all trades required for the maintenance of 360 units on property, including townhomes and apartments. Preventive maintenance schedule followed daily. Other tasks varied, and included: HVAC, plumbing, drywall, or electrical work. Service requests might relate to plumbing needs, electrical issues, drywall repair needs, kitchen appliance repairs, and more. I was part of a four-man crew, working both autonomously and as part of the team.

Job duties and responsibilities span several different trades, performed within 174 units at a partially HUD-funded apartment complex. Daily tasks are dictated by a preventive maintenance schedule, and resident-submitted service requests. Preventive maintenance on each unit includes cleaning HVAC coils and filters; checking windows for leaks; checking the plumbing in each unit; testing smoke detectors; checking all locks; and making sure water heaters are functioning properly. Service requests might be related to plumbing needs, electrical issues, drywall repair needs, repairs to kitchen appliances, as well as various other trades. I am also part of the on-call rotation for four area buildings. In addition, I have enthusiastically taken on the responsibility of training a new employee, and have been performing as acting maintenance supervisor. This position has allowed me to build upon my leadership skills, preparing me for the opportunity to take on an official supervisor role.
