IPCell / Sept. 1999 – Oct. 2000
Built an engineering team responsible for the OAMP portion of the VoIP softswitch. Duties included architecture, design reviews, hiring and managing software engineers, working with the senior management staff and the initial target customers. Also responsible for building up a consortium of 3rd party partners to integrate with the softswitch from an operations perspective.
DIRECTOR, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT
DSC Communications / Mar. 1996 – Jun. 1999
Duties included overseeing all hiring and engineering management for the team responsible for all development of the Class 4 Tandem Switches used by MCI Communications. Responsibilities also included all P&L for the department of 100+ engineers, customer relations, product support and development, coordination with overseas development teams and management/training of the first level managers.

Responsible for all team activities related to the development of the switching matrix component of the DEX600E Megahub product. This was a team of 10 experienced engineers. Highly involved in the architecture, software development and management of the personnel.

A decade of software development including work on MMI (Man Machine Interface), AMA Billing, switching matrix configuration and fault isolation, network management and call processing protocols development. Duties included design, implementation, testing and support of the software. Project planning and scheduling duties were added in over time. Implementation and training of the staff on a new development process adopted by the company resulted in a 50% reduction in defects prior to going to the field/customers.
