Raider’s Stadium, Las Vegas

Steel coordinator for the fabrication of the structural steel for the Raider’s Stadium.

I traveled to each steel fabrication facility to coordinate the production of steel connection along with columns and beams. Connection nodes were multi-connections which required 3-D imagery to fabricate.

Atlanta International Airport. Atlanta Airport Canopy System.

Responsible for managing all structural and misc. steel for the Atlanta Airport Canopy System. Currently this project is around $60 mil.

Responsible for the renovation and replacement of various conveyor systems at Atlanta Airport. The replacement of conveyor system within an operating airport and the coordination of the work with airport and Delta facility managers.

Senior Site Manager, Hazama-Ando, 8/30/2013 to 8/30/16

Unipress, Forrest Ms and Portland Tenn.

o100,000 s/f additions to both Unipress plants for an additional 3500 Komotsu presses. Work includes 100,000 s/f building, press pits, laser welder pits, robotic arms and assembly line, installation of Komotsu presses. Both projects were worked on and scheduled within a 24/7 working facility.

oPortland Unipress added work of $2.3m 402,000 s/f re-roofing project.

oForrest, Ms. $5m, office addition, of 50,000 S/F.

oWithin all the above work, there was conveyor system that handled material to and from the stamping presses.

Senior Construction Manager. Amason Associates 3/2010 to 7/2013

Mercedes Benz, Vance, Alabama, Hydrogen Fuel Cell Facility. $5m.

Mercedes Benz, Vance Alabama, ASRS -3 Stacker Building, $10m.

oManaged the start to finish of the 10-story stacked building. The stacker building was of structural steel and metal siding.

oInstallation of a Body and Skid Conveyor systems with mechanical and software integration into Mercedes overall conveyor system. This system included cross chain, vertical lift and scissor lift tables, quad roller tables, two (2) 1.5-ton warehouse cranes, two (2) 1.5 ton vertical distance lifts. Integration of the Warehouse Management System and KPS operation system. The overall system managed four (4) levels of conveyor systems and fifteen (15) levels of storage. Worked directly with the Mercedes management team on the initial design and timing sequencing of the entire system to match that of the existing system.

Steel Dust Recovery Inc. Columbus Ms. Exhaust Scrubber System, $15m.

This work included a granular transportation system from the receiving area to Kiln area for processing. Separating system for the extracted zinc from Kiln location to silo storage area for conveyor loading for semi-trucks and gravity fed system from the silos to train cars. This system included measurement sensors integrated into the existing software.

Senior Construction Manager. Volkert and Associates 3/2005 to 1/2010

Sumter County High School.

Jacksonville State University, Stadium Renovation and Living Units, a $50M addition to the stadium with additional living unit of 355,000 s/f with 314 dorm rooms, booster area, 6th floor press boxes and 7th floor private game viewing suits. The overall project was scheduled to be constructed in eighteen months. The stadium was pre-cast units, the living units and game viewing area were of structural steel on composite decking and brick fascia.

Alabama State University Life Science Facility a $26M grass roots, 87,000 s/f five (5) story biological education facility. Responsible for the design phase of the project, after completion of the design phase put together bid packages per state requirements. This facility had classrooms, lecture hall, laboratories with gas, RO, reversed osmosis water along with fume hoods per lab.

Senior Project Manager. Faithful & Gould 3/2002 to2/2005

Miami Inter-National Airport, Managed the B/C Infill project for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) a $35m project. This project was an infill structure between the A and D Terminal at the Miami International Airport. The structure was a concrete formed four (4) story structure with a glass curtain wall system. My duties were of the Construction Manager for MDAD, coordinating and managing The Turner- Austin Airport Team through the construction process.

Included within the building structure, the baggage conveyor system was integrated into the new A&D

terminal facility from the existing backbone baggage conveyor. This work included mechanical and software

integration along with kick-in and kick out locations for baggage from the backbone system.

McCormick Center West, Chicago, Ill. $45m manager of the structural steel package. This project was the delivery and erection of the structural steel for the expansion of the McCormick Center.

Project Manager B.L. Harbert 7/1995 to2/2002

HHG, A Joint Venture Group, of B.L. Harbert, Global, and Faithful & Gould.

The Honda Phase A2 project, primary responsible was for the structural steel packaging of the Paint Shop, Stamping and Frame Plant, the steel package was $35M with an aggressive schedule. At its completion, the structural steel was a total of 12,000 tons and took 4 months and 4 days to erect to completion. We also encountered a total of 180 engineering changes, all of which were negotiated, approved and the contract modification was issued to the contractor. This quick turnaround of change orders allowed for a smooth project with a quick close out of the contract. At the same period of time, I managed the per-finished metal siding package contract valued at $2.2M.

oInstallation of a new conveyor system from stamping, to welding, to paint shop to final assembly. This system included roller beds, tread conveyors, overhead chain conveyor, lift tables and one vertical distance lifting system.

The Honda Phase A1 project primary responsibility was estimating change orders, settling claims and close out of contracts. There were some 200 change orders that were estimated and settled with in a 6-month time frame. There were fifteen construction claims, the claims were handled by myself and were settled in house; with one claim settling in arbitration. During this 6-month time frame I closed out eighteen contracts all to the owner’s satisfaction.

Boeing Delta IV Rocket Facility, Decatur AL - $7M Concrete Tunnel systems for utilities and emergency egress.

Primary responsibilities included the duties of bid packages and negotiation of job contracts, pricing of change orders to the owner, coordination and scheduling of work activities using the Primavera Scheduling System, review and approve shop drawings. Liaison between owner, architectural and engineering firms for pre-construction and construction problem resolution. Job Budget and Indicated Out Come Report. Conducted Monthly Owner’s Meeting. Administered the owners control insurance program.

Choctaw Maid Farms, Phases 1 & 2, Carthage, MS – $40M Project for a Poultry Processing Plant.

oAnimal processing conveyor system. This system conveyed live chickens from off- loading to processing to final packaging then to flash freezers. The process system had pneumatic, vacuum, air and water integration to each process station with a rubberized conveyor system. The cleaned chicken would then be diverted to one of several conveyor systems to debone and filet, whole chickens or parted then into packaging line. Within this system inspection locations and removal bins.

Project Engineer, Contractor’s Quality Control Manager

Control verification and acceptance of testing procedures per contract specifications for equipment and material to be installed. Reviewed all submittals and final design drawings for constructability and compliance with contract requirements. Directed all preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings. Supervise quality control and project engineering staff. Develop request for information to Corps and A/E firms. Control, development and maintenance of the job schedule using the Primavera Scheduling System, which included cost, and resource loading for change orders, scheduling projections and monthly billing.

Performed site inspection of all work activities ensuring all activities meet the Kentucky OSHA, Toyota Safety and Quality Control guidelines. This project went 190 days without an OSHA recordable accident. At completion, a 2.5 recordable accident ratio and 1 lost time accident with 300,000 man-hours was achieved. Performed off-site factory acceptance test for equipment to be installed. Assisted Project Engineer at peak periods of the project.
