Dr. Peter Kapsales is an experienced professional with extensive experience in program management, information technology, and strategy. His expertise includes enterprise architecture, digital transformation, system integration, SaaS, cloud, and process improvement experience. He has worked with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to manage complex engagements, including establishing program and project management disciplines, and managing the full development life cycle (both agile and waterfall environments). He partnered with executives to define, set priorities, and deliver innovative technology platforms. His background includes Manufacturing 4.0 with Siemens Corporation and product management of digital and cloud products for AT&T/Lucent Technologies implementing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to drive efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Dr. Kapsales’ experience includes managing a cross-functional team of over 500 scientists and engineers to design and manufacture complex digital technology products, and bring them to market. He (a) managed design and development processes, (b) implemented program management and project management functions, (c) chaired the change control committee and managed implementation of the changes, and (d) implemented a digital design and cloud architecture in the product. His experience includes resource management, management dashboards, mitigating risks, project communication plans, key performance indicators (KPIs), and coordinating project activities to ensure projects progressed on schedule and within budget. He was on the editorial review board of the Project Management Journal for 15 years, published numerous papers on Project Management, and cited in two books on Project Management. He is a certified Scrum Master and certified in Foundations of Cybersecurity.
Dr. Kapsales was an innovator and technologist for fifteen years with Bell Laboratories where he received ten patents. His work has appeared on the front page of The New York Times, he has been interviewed by BusinessWeek, by Sales and Marketing Strategies News, and provided testimony to the Federal Communications Commission. He published over twenty papers and received numerous individual and team awards including a civilian award for exceptional service from the US Army for his top secret (TS/SCI) work in wireless communications, the Bonnie B. Small Quality Award, two Malcolm Baldrige Quality Awards, and the Conforum Award for Innovation. He has been cited in the quality book Four Days with Dr. Deming and in Human Resource Skills for the Project Manager, and his publications on security have been required course material in the graduate program in security at Georgetown University. He has outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Dr. Kapsales received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University, majoring in Information Structures and Systems. He completed an executive development program at the Stern School of Business at New York University, received his MBA from Monmouth University, and earned his BS degree from Syracuse University. He completed continuing education programs at the Wharton School of Business, George Washington University, and the IEEE.
