I am responding to a Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist job opening with TAK Communications. I have extensive experience using the HRIS system, Paylocity, to process payroll and manage benefits. My diverse background in multi-state payroll (heavily in CA), payroll accounting, and human resources functions have contributed to a well-rounded pool of skills that I can offer to this position.
I have been fortunate in my career to have worked with various companies to process accurate, full-cycle payrolls while adhering to state and governmental regulations and tax procedures. Being an active member of the American Payroll Association has enabled me to keep up to date on new regulations affecting payroll and benefits. Working closely with Human Resources, I have assisted with 401k, Workers’ Compensation, and General Liability audits, as well as EEO-1, California Pay Data, and Bureau of Labor Statistics reporting. I have experience with managing the time keeping and payroll modules in Paylocity, as well as managing the benefits and payrolls for companies with multiple entities. In addition, my Associates of Accounting degree has aided me in obtaining a thorough knowledge of payroll accounting and enabled me to conduct month-end reconciliations for payroll-related accounts in the general ledger.
I am very much people-oriented and enjoy helping problem-solve payroll issues, as well as educating employees about their earnings, deductions, and payroll taxes so they can be better informed and more knowledgeable about their wages and the payroll process.
