Letter of Recommendation
Roy Winterburg
Dear All,
Roy joined our FHP USA site in Aurora Il. in July 2021 as a Senior Project Engineer. We had a major site expansion project planned for this site that would more than double the capacity of the plant and Roy was brought in to be the project lead. Over the next two and half years Roy led several project workstreams in this area: infrastructure expansion, 2x increase in injection molding department, as well as several new production lines for the site. In his role, I was heavily involved with Roy, and he was an excellent project manager running a project over 20Mio USD in capital, involving and coordinating numerous external contractors, internal resources as well as legal/local government liaison of a multi-year project. His technical knowledge in Injection Molding, building expansion/infrastructure is really at an expert level and his leadership and in-depth knowledge/experience level was key to the successful implementation of project. This was a very difficult time (right after CoVid) with many challenges in terms of material supply and supply chain difficulties. Overall the project was considered a full success and met all the project charter objectives and Roy was a key part of that success.
During 2022 Roy was promoted to also take over as the Engineering Manager of the Aurora site. In this role he had lead for: Engineering team, Process Team, Mold/Tool room and Maintenance department of a 7 day/24 hour production plant.
As the global head of technology, I worked directly with Roy on both the major site expansion project and in his role as engineering manager. I found him very strong technically, easy to work with, and open to ideas and alternative ways to solve issues. He has a deep background in plant moves/changes and is very strong in Injection molding technical knowledge.
Best regards
