Wells Fargo & Co., San Francisco 2017 – Present
Applications Systems Engineer (Consulting at EIT- Business & Technology Solutions) Key Projects:
Customer Compromised Information System: developed DB2 Hogan CIS application, which allows partners
(especially Fraud and Internal Investigation team) significantly expend functionality of the system. In this application utilized COBOL, SAS, Rexx, SORT, JCL, NDM, Easytrieve Plus, PAC2000, Endevor, MQs. Developed new sophisticated DB2 SQL quires to allow process 17 type of user’s request, extracting data from Hogan CIS. While working on application developed functionality to capture and interpret DB2/SQL errors including what kind input caused it. That code and technique can be utilized as a standard on department and enterprise level.
Foreign Currency Services on SVT: for this compliance enterprise wide project develop application to support moving foreign currency out of RFX and FCX to SVT to create single set of business rules and processes to complete foreign currency transactions; provide advanced reporting (and scorecard calculations) including cash differences data in ORCP reporting and tracking. Remediate and change variety of applications that utilized OC/MVS, JCL/PROC, TSO/ISPFCOBOL, SAS, SORT, NDM, Easytrieve Plus, Endevor, PAC2000, IBM mainframe utilities, SORT, CA7 scheduler
CBT PCI Remediation: work on high visibility compliance/regulatory project coordinating development effort through Enterprise PCI Program and under ED Ritter. This project will allow mitigate risk by redacting and eliminating card holder data at rest and ensure proper storage, processing and transmission of payment cardholder and sensitive authentication data. In this application use SAS, COBOL, SORT, NDM, Easytrieve Plus, Endevor, PAC2000, JCL/PROC, IBM mainframe utilities

Hold multifaceted roles, oversee all aspects of systems architecture, data analysis, and project/product management. Manage multiple, simultaneous development projects from engineers. Build, staff, and lead a variety of engineering teams. Regarded as a Subject Matter Expert in operations systems and software throughout Mainframe and distributed environments. Key Projects:
Portfolio Accounting & Record Keeping System: Drove millions in revenues and expanded trading capabilities by managing, architecting, designing, developing, and implementing Shared Portfolio Accounting and Portfolio Administration system to gather data from various sources. Portfolio Accounting system (Perl, Java, Unix Shell, .Net, XML, Oracle, DB2, Teradata, AutoSys, ESP, ETL Tolls, BI) is to support Direct Posting, Lot Trading and provide Cost Basis reporting. Pioneered NFS/HFS Infrastructure, creating shop standards for this highly-available performance network data transfer system between Mainframe and Unix/Linux environments. Led company’s effort to replace NDM/FTP infrastructure, providing significant cost-savings for license fees. Prepared and made presentations on the new technologies and shared experience and techniques with other groups/projects at Schwab.
Active Trader Product Development: Identified and tracked high-volume/high-value accounts for conversion into new cost-basis system, facilitating competitive product-offering advantage for Schwab. Enabled company to focus on cost-basis accounting systems for monitoring and deployment of high-volume/high-value accounts.
Short Sale Automation System: Directed TechStar implementation to automate the approval of short sales via MQSeries interface between HOGAN CIS and distributed system and further with Front-End Smart Loan server
(MQSeries, JAVA, C++, ActiveX). Allowed Mainframe to contact the server, enabling near real-time authorization or rejection of short-sale requests, thus improving customer communication.
Smart Loan Client/Server System: Spearheaded the development of the Smart Loan Client/Server System designed to allow Security Lending to generate $30M per year in Interest Income for Schwab and increase revenue. Upgraded Smart Loan application, cutting over 90% of manual work for Security Lending department and saving
$300K in DTC Memo-Seg, thus increasing bottom-line revenue.
SmartSeg System: Led full project lifecycle and development efforts of SmartSeg System designed to to calculate and report segregation requirements, excess, and deficits. Provided technical leadership for programmers, Schwab business users and third party vendor interface, analysis, architecture design, and software development. Enabled the street-side settlement and stock loan departments to better utilize Schwab’s excess box positions, improving auditability of Schwab’s segregation calculations.
BP&T (Balances, Positions and Transactions): Served as Project Lead/Developer for online and batch applications system to access Balances, Positions, and Transactions and calculate account balances. Defined data models for business and financial applications. Used Message Queues for queueing data between regions and other work units/environments to facilitate real-time trade cashiering transactions from Legacy system to SAMS. Accomplishments and Acknowledgements
Designed, developed application standards with Checkpoint/Restart Processing and File Synchronization, DB2 retry logic and Error handling processing. These applications are used as model and shop’s standard
Analyzed, approved, designed, advised on variety of large scale projects, acted as SME (Subject Matter Expert) on multiple applications & software used at Schwab, trained, mentored developers
Defined development and test/verification methodologies and strategies; architected, developed, successfully implemented applications utilizing mainframe and distributed, systems/environments combining them into a comprehensive system with Business Tier Logic
Developed, implemented Smart Loan Client/Server System, which allows Security Lending department generate over $30 Million annually in Interest Income for Schwab and provides opportunities for increased revenue. It became comprehensive Security Lending System supporting loans, borrows, short sales and borrows returns.
Designed and developed (SmartSeg System to calculate and report segregation requirements, excesses and deficits. While the system become a major input to the SmartLoan Automation referenced in the above, in addition saving about $70 million annually. My responsibilities included: full life-cycle project management and development efforts, maintenance of strong business and vendor relationships, collaboration with different departments, business users and third party vendor, analysis, architecture design and software development as well as technical supervision of the programmers.
