PROJECTS

Solar Battery Charger

Designed and simulated a solar battery charging system in PSIM, implementing a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm to optimize energy harvesting efficiency. The system integrated a solar panel with a DC-DC buck-boost converter to regulate energy transfer to the battery load. This project deepened my understanding of advanced power electronics and control systems, strengthened my proficiency with renewable energy technologies, and provided hands-on experience in designing efficient energy conversion systems for sustainable applications.

Handwritten Number Recognition Program

Designed and implemented a handwritten digit recognition program from scratch using Matlab, without relying on external libraries to fully understand and control the underlying processes. The project involved using linear algebra to develop my machine learning algorithm and then train it by using the MNIST dataset. By iteratively refining the model, I improved its accuracy and reliability, gaining practical experience in dataset management, algorithm optimization, and the integration of theoretical concepts into functional applications.

New York Oil Spills Data Analysis

Collaborated with a team of five to analyze a large dataset of oil spills in New York, using Python for data manipulation, and visualization. Coordinated roles within the team, ensuring efficient division of tasks, including data cleaning and data analysis for the different counties. Using the large amount of data we were given, we were able to identify high-risk areas, enabling community officials to advocate for oil spill prevention in those areas. We then presented findings that demonstrated a clear connection between data-driven insights and actionable strategies for improving New York’s oil spills. EXPERIENCE

Accounting Assistant – Guardians of Love (Summer 2019) - Worked directly with the CFO to manage and complete multiple high-pressure audits for this non-profit company. I had to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail by reviewing financial records and reconciling discrepancies under tight deadlines. Through these challenges I gained experience in financial reporting and audit preparation, showing adaptability, reliability, and grit in a fast-paced environment.

Accounting Assistant – Independent Sewer Camera Inc. (Summer 2020) - Collaborated with the CFO to input and manage daily work orders in the company's accounting system. Assisted with payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Gained hands-on experience in financial data entry and payroll systems, building a foundation in organizational skills. Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and accuracy.

Delivery Driver – Domino's Pizza (Summer 2022, Summer 2023 - Summer 2024) - Provided excellent customer service by ensuring timely delivery of orders, consistently maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings. Managed cash and electronic payments, maintaining accurate records of daily transactions. Developed strong communication skills by addressing customer concerns and resolving delivery challenges. Water Meter Technician – iWater (August 2024 – November 2024) - Contracted by the City of Lynwood to assist in a citywide survey, exposing underground pipes and water meters for inspection. I was able to collaborate closely with a civil engineer to ensure the accuracy and quality of work, adhering to engineering standards and municipal regulations. My team and I recorded and analyzed data to ensure water meters and connecting pipes met city standards. I gained experience organizing teams to efficiently cover large areas and inspect the infrastructure in a timely manner. All of this strengthened my leadership, technical, and communication skills by coordinating between my team and civil engineering staff to maintain project alignment. SCHOLARSHIPS
