Alex M Cooper

Work Experience

US Navy: ** February 2011- 02 February 2015

Was a cryptologic technician technical (CTT) petty officer second class (E5). Work included launching chaff, maintaining hardware and soft systems, data collection on foreign ships, identification of possible threats and every tactical and navigation oriented radar at sea. Had collateral duties involving:

• Repair locker assignment (firefighting and shoring).

• Repair parts petty officer (supply orders to division).

• Damage control petty officer (additional ship-wide general maintenance from spring loaded hatches to air conditioning units). Use of SKED for maintenance cycle execution.

• Gauge calibration (analog, digital maintenance was related to cryptology only).

• Sea & anchor detail (linework for mooring destroyer sized vessel to pier, worked both from ship and from shore).

• Helmsman qualified (operated as pilot in training under conning officer until verified as a capable pilot).

• Supply support (semi-qualified in the kitchen to help prepare the culinary teams delivery of meals four times a day, extensive cleaning and repair of kitchen related equipment).

• Held Top Secret / Secret Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. Mulligans Wine & Spirits: 2016

Was in school doing general education classes at the time. Was with this employer for about seven months. Left because mid-shift is all that was open and conflicted with a mandatory class time (would have stayed for the phenomenal crew).

• Worked register.

• Stocked material.

• Positive attitude and customer interactivity.

• Liquor license maintained.

Rite Aid: 2017

Still taking some general education classes at this point. Was with this employer for about six months. Left after shift manager position failed to open.

• Worked register.

• Stocked Material.

• Led planogram changes.

Traverse City Airport: 2020

Hired on. Passed through computer based training. Clearance never granted as delays rolled out by the small airport due to hour reductions meant newer employers not given security clearances or put on hours. Reduced hours for employees was a direct result of COVID-19 and less customer base flowing through the airport and its tentative financial future. Had to leave Traverse City as a lack of sufficient hours meant living in the area would be unsustainable. Home Depot: 2021 & later in 2023

Worked as lumber associate. Many think it is a retail job, but it is also a warehouse with production elements. Utilized:

• Radial & panel saw to meet customer demands for special cut lumber.

• Sit-down style forklift.

• Reach forklift (Crown company variant).

• Assisted customers with home & land projects.

• Exercised judgement on discounted items to push sells and build client relationships.

• Maintained department safety and cleanliness standards.

• Unloaded semi-trucks safely and quickly.

• Loaded customer’s personal vehicles safely (and slowly).

• Trained around over half a dozen hires. Directed team efforts on day-to-day basis as morning or mid-shift, coordinating with the alternating shifts to accomplish special projects.

DB Schenker: 2022-2023

Worked as inventory and outbound specialist for seven and seven months respectively. Left for the flexibility of Home Depot’s hours, similar to situation with Mulligans (another fantastic crew). Work included:

• Investigation of uncovered mistakes and item recovery. Thorough cycle counting throughout warehouse (raising the weekly number of total counted items from around 70% to 100%).

• Preparation of outbound packages and kits destined for data center. Reduced reaction time to new orders from around 30-40 minutes to 5-10 minutes. Outbound trucks averaging 1-3 per day went up to 4-7 trucks per day in the first week.

• Given clearance to do high level cycle counts on high-risk items (HRI) in caged/secured area.

• Reach forklift (Crown company variant).

• Dock stocker style lift.

• Loaded and unloaded insides of trucks using dock stocker forklift.

• Order creation, tracking, and management.

• Thorough knowledge of warehouse management system JDA.

• Thorough utilization of Excel and Google Sheets.

• Thorough background knowledge of RF (radio frequency) scanner systems. Used to troubleshoot technical picking errors.

• Some knowledge of SAP and Delta (for tracking variances).

• Quality control duties including an over 99.9% inspection success rate accounting for proper material quality, quantity, and packaging.
