Created MasterCam programs for VTL with 55, 65 & 95 inches diameter spindles. Starting with the setup and loading as many tools I needed to use and always double checking everything before starting to cut any material. These parts were for Aerospace, Blue Origin, General Dynamic and Military defense. Most of the parts were 4 or more tons and measured 5ft in height and 65 inches in diameter.

CNC lathe Setup (8/2011-12/2016)

Created MasterCam programs for 2- and 4-axis CNC lathes from DXF files. Loaded program in the lathe, installed and fine- tuned the necessary tooling, and manually advanced through the program to confirm accuracy and safety. Broke down lathe setups after run completion and returned tooling to proper storage area. Cut pie jaws for new parts. Modified G-code of existing programs to keep compatibility between Haas, Okuma, and Mori Seiki lathes. Worked closely with QC to insure quality standards and preformed quality inspections on a wide variety of products using Faro Gage, Faro Arm and Cam2 software to confirm first articles. Assisted operators by adjusting feed rate, spindle speeds, and cutting profile offsets to prevent chatter, poor finish, and runout issues as well as to shorten cycle times.

Preformed visual inspection, measured critical dimensions, and maintained proper paper work/inspection sheets. Interpreted technical drawings, met production goals, complied with QC inspection schedule and hardness testing, and kept work area clean. Proficient with calipers (dial and vernier), micrometers, and dial indicators. Promoted to CNC lathe Setup after 4 years as Machine Operator.
