President - I assumed this position. As President of AFGE, Local 2463, I was instrumental in filing charges against the Agency for miscategorizing employees as exempt instead of non-exempt for overtime purposes. AFGE Local 2463 won and recently settled its grievance. Also:
• Filed several Unfair Labor Practices (ULP) based on the Agency's violation of the CBA concerning the opportunity to negotiate before instituting new and edited policies and procedures and violations of the Law and sent several new stewards AFGE Steward College.
• Managed the union office and delegated cases to the proper stewards. Reviewed and discussed all grievances before stewards met with management.
• Organized, participated and oversaw membership drives, monthly union meetings, meetings with the employees in small groups, and staff meetings to address concerns.
• Assisted employees in successfully obtaining OWCP when the Agency failed to provide the employee with all necessary documents or challenges. Represented employees in successfully defending their rights to OWCP before the DOL Administration Appeal Board. Executive Vice President - Held this position for two terms, the second term unopposed. This position allowed me to vote in the AFGE National Conventions, where policies are made. Attended training classes to gain knowledge of detailed information in all aspects of union representation, OWCP, Labor Law, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation. Filed Merit System Protection Board (MSPB), Mediation and Reconciliation, and Arbitration documents on behalf of employees. Chief Steward – Was promoted to this position based on successfully defending the Bargaining Unit Employees (BUE). As Chief Steward, I supervised stewards and provided them with training and direction. Also, I represented employees in the pursuit of their rights. This position allowed me to gain Arbitration and Labor Law knowledge and attend AFGE Conventions. At this level, the goal was to amass information to defend employees and create a filing system for the rules, regulations, and Laws used to protect Labor/Employee Relations meetings.

Union Steward - My experience started with the counsel of the President of Local 2463. Learned the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), trained the steward, met with employees, and recorded their complaints. Based on the complaint's nature, either met with the supervisor outside the grievance process to clarify a misunderstanding or officially in a grievance meeting. I have successfully satisfied the employees' grievances by researching the rules, regulations, and Articles in the CBA or company directive and cooperating with management.
