Managed up to 25 employees including supply chain managers, production planners, inventory control, and receiving & shipping. Supply chain director developing & managing all activities for the procurement department. All procurement activities were compliant to DFAR regulations and internal ISO-9001:2008 & AS9100 processes for large company procurement. Lead a cross functional team to select and manage our strategic suppliers then brought those suppliers through the new product introduction processes to full scale production. Direct responsibility for all supply chain activities for the internal manufacturing team to integrate our final satellite antennas products. Direct liaison between critical antennas suppliers, satellite equipment, custom machined and sheet metal components, printed circuit boards and their associated electro-mechanical assemblies. Established schedules and milestone plans to ensure our vendors hit their final ship dates. Was the primary point of contact between our engineering department and vendors working issues related to contract negotiations, written statements of work, process documents, CAD files, bills of materials, vendor quality, specifications flow-downs, material review board, scheduling products through the NPI process and to full scale production, tooling, on-time shipments, and anything else needed to meet our customers’ requirements. Required travel both domestic and international approx. 25% of the time. Directed internal production planners to release work orders to manufacturing per established schedules. This was a startup company. Managed up to 18 employees including test technicians, manufacturing engineers, and purchasing personnel. Managed all procurement activities and processes for an OEM company utilizing outside manufacturing partners (no internal manufacturing). Major procurement included 18-layer BGA printed circuit boards, machined housings, coax & cable wire assemblies. Project director in charge of co-engineering a custom cable modem with our Asian manufacturing partner. The modem was capable of download speeds of 24Mbit per second, allowing programmable MAC addresses. It passed both FCC part 15 & Japanese VCCI regulations for radiated emissions and UL certifications. We hit schedule, & production cost points. Production rates hit 30,000 units per year. Selection chairman for international contract manufacturing partners located in North America, Mexico, Taiwan, and China. Negotiated international manufacturing agreements including supply chain, contract assembly for new product introduction thru full-scale volume production, customer returns, set up depot service offices.
