With Bell Tech Logix, I performed advanced hardware and software diagnostics. The systems involved an enterprise network, consisting of a main server running SQL and Norton Ghost, with multiple IBM, Compaq and Dell workstations and laptops.
I ensured that SQL Server was correctly handshaking with Lotus Notes clients and the in-house database help-desk system. This involved configuring the interconnections of ODBC and BDE connections on a daily basis and being available to diagnose Cisco router issues.
Other tasks were upgrading and replacing faulty hardware components, training staff on Microsoft Office applications, installing IBM 5250 emulation software and software license compliance with all involved departments.

While serving as a Network Administrator at Edgerton Corp, I had been assigned the responsibilities of building IBM Netfinity servers that would be used to support SCO Unix, Windows NT and Windows 2000. The network infrastructure consisted of Nortel and Cisco routers that I supported via frame relay and by my construction of IPSEC tunnels for VPN connectivity between branch offices.
I was been responsible to provide on-site installations at clients’ facilities. At those locations, I efficiently set up static IP addresses, installed and configured SCO ANSI emulation software and ensured network integrity. Other installations involved interfacing with Microsoft Exchange Server and training.
Additionally, I provided Linux System Administration as well as provided help desk support and training for staff on the 150 mixed-workstation (Unix/Windows) environment. This involved day-to-day instruction on both platforms, VI editing and the customization of scripts for other peripherals, such as printers and scanners. Furthermore, my suggestion of Veritas and Microlite BackupEdge backups and policies for the network proved to be invaluable.
