It is the responsibility of the Material Control Clerk (MCC) to over-see all production work orders to ensure the accuracy of the WIP inventory. The MCC manages the WIP inventory by performing daily cycle counts on all open work orders exceeding 30 to 90 days. Generate, analyze, and resolve any unacceptable work order variances. Work with the Direct Order Fulfillment (DOF) Team to ensure accurate Finished Goods Material to our end-customers with no disruption to their supply line.

Accomplishments

** Creation of Material Control Clerk Training Manual which has been used in all Plexus Facilities throughout the world.

** In 2006 I traveled to our Penang Facility to train their MCC’s using this manual in JDE.

Direct Ship Specialist April 2008 to March 2021

The Direct Ship Specialist works directly with the Siemens Ultrasound Customer’s Config to Order Management Team, by generating our Sales Orders based on their incoming Purchase Orders through the Electronic Data Invoicing (EDI) System. Then generate all the necessary work orders and transfer manuals to ensure all the necessary material is ready to ship as scheduled. To control and manage work orders in process, manage work in process (WIP) material and their locations to reduce inventory costs, while increasing inventory accuracy, flexibility and integrity. Monitor and follow-through all ECN/BoM changes, for open WO’s to ensure all assemblies are shipping at the correct revision levels and on time.

Accomplishment

** Since the Config to Order (CTO) process was new to Plexus at the time, the whole process from the start needed to designed and maintained. This would include all departments and assigning responsibilities to each department and individual associated to this program.
