EXPERIENCE

Jul ’18 - Jun ‘23 Principal Telecom Engineer, Marvell Technology Inc. Santa Clara, CA

Migrate Marvell offices globally to Cloud PBX platform and Video conferencing and Contact Center from the current on-prem Cisco UC & Collaboration environment. In addition, maintain and operate the current on-prem Cisco UC & Collaboration environment globally until the final migration to Cloud PBX and Video conferencing and Contact Center is complete.

Recently helped reevaluate RingCentral solution which was our initially chosen Cloud partner and migrated to new Zoom Phone and Contact Center solution. This allowed us to combine all our communication technology into one Zoom (phone-contact center and video).

Helped plan for various integrations Slack and Zoom, Zoom Power Pack solution, BYOC deployment where no full cloud solution available in that region.

• Performed initial analysis and research in the market about current top UCaaS vendors, who can become our partners in the journey to move from an on-prem solution to a Cloud based.

• Developed RFP and shared with various UCaaS vendors and to respond accordingly.

• During the RFI stage various UCaaS vendors were allowed clarify and ask questions.

• Final response from UCaaS vendors to our RFP were evaluated and weighted for selection process.

• Selected UCaaS vendors were further invited to conduct a demo and present their solution.

• Thoroughly vet the solution from various UCaaS vendors by having POC phase and ensure it fits in our environment geographically.

• At the same time apply forward thinking to have a best UCaaS solution chosen and deployed.

• Ensure that the chosen UCaaS solution integrates with our current Collaboration Tools Slack & Zoom.

• Maintain and Operate our current Cisco UC & Collaboration global environment has no degraded performance.

• Look to move the Cisco Video endpoints registration directly to Zoom cloud and decommission the Cisco video server infrastructure.

• Refreshed Cisco video codecs for all of Marvell campus and global Marvell locations to Logi Rally bar and registration zoom cloud.

• Work closely with AV vendor in planning and redesigning the video conference room hardware layout, right from power to placement of hardware in the right direction for having no impact on audio and video.

Apr ’15 - Nov ’15 Cisco Voice Architect, Energy Future Holdings, Dallas, TX

The client wanted a P2V migration of Cisco UC infrastructure from version 8.x to 10.x using Prime Collaboration Deployment Tool, for which we deployed a Prime Collaboration Tool for testing P2V pre-migration strategy.

Upgraded all of Cisco’s UC appliances CUCM, CUC, CUPS and CUAC to version 10.x

Completed license migration from DLU to new licensing CUWL.

Moved the SIP Infrastructure (ingress/egress) ACME/SBC over to the new P2V environment.

Facilitated SIP Trunk integration to third party systems like IPC trading system and Genesys.

Kept architecture/design documentation current, reviewed, and updated all documentation for quality, accuracy, content, and consistency.

The approach to succeed in this migration in production was to have a parallel environment built.

Environment: Client road map moved virtual environment V-block 720 and UCS Cisco B Series modules. It’s a single CUCM and CUC cluster running on version 8.x/9.x with 5000 plus endpoints supported. Call routing is a SIP infrastructure where ACME/SBC used for both inbound and outbound. All the remote locations use Cisco ISR voice gateways 2800, 2900, 3800 and 3900 series with h.323 protocol to communicate back to CUCM.

Jan ’14 - Apr ’15 Sr. UC Engineer, Walgreens, Chicago, IL

Project goals included migrating the users from the existing Cisco Call Manager cluster version 6.x to 8.x updated on a virtualized platform and from Nortel PBX to Cisco Call Manager with a split dial plan design. Additionally, I prepared for a nationwide roll-out to 6,600 stores hence assisted in planning, engineering, creating processes documentation and lead through the deployment of stores which covered over 150,000 endpoints.

Architected and developed standards as per the HLD (High Level Design) and LLD (Low Level Design)

Migrated all stores residing on the older versions of Cisco UC and the Legacy environment to the Next Gen environment.

Kept architecture documentation current and reviewed and updated all documentation for quality, accuracy, content, and consistency.

Environment: Walgreen has a virtual environment of Cisco B Series where there are 16 CUCM/clusters, 16 CUC clusters and 16 CER clusters. For call routing SIP infrastructure where ACME were used as a SBC’s and Cisco ISR voice gateways 2800, 2900, 3800 and 3900 series.
