I have served as a career coach at Rutgers University New Start Career Network (NSCN) for long term unemployed. My takeaway from this experience is that most people view their current job as an end and not as a career.
I am in the business of helping my clients identify ways of thinking and behaving that no longer serve them well and adopt new ones so they can be more adept at planning and managing their careers.
During my career, I was downsized several times. The last time was when I was 60. I remember the intense emotions I experienced (Grief, Fear, Frustration, Anxiety, Stress, Anger, Worthlessness, Shame etc.) As part of my separation packages, I received Outplacement services. These services gave me the support, confidence, expertise, and tenacity I needed to complete a successful job search.
Because I know exactly what individuals are experiencing, I can empathize and share my story with them, which is their story, as we work together to complete a successful job search. Career transition coaching is my passion and why I do what I do.
I have 30 plus years global experience working in Fortune 500 firms in executive coaching, talent management, learning and enterprise-wide change initiatives.
I created JAR Consulting so I could focus on the area where I have deep expertise and which I most enjoy and do my best work: executive coaching. From my experience, I have learned that coaching is a deliberate and intentional process that enables my clients to adopt new knowledge, skills, and behaviors so they can be more adept at leading their organizations through change, ambiguity, and disruption.
My coaching experience includes one on one and group coaching. My coaching style is supportive and collaborative enabling my clients to take more risks to expand their skills and knowledge.
My broad exposure of understanding human behavior in a variety of business settings gives me a unique perspective into challenges clients face and enables me to identify sustainable solutions (training and/or coaching) to address those challenges.

Using DiSC assessment and 360 Feedback, coached Financial Advisors and Complex Managers in a global financial services firm to recognize and develop their personal communication and sales leadership capabilities to manage their sales teams more effectively. In same firm, cascaded this initiative, including DiSC Assessment, to sales team members to ensure more transparent and clear communications among team members. With this DiSC information, salespeople also learned how to adjust their communication styles to match those of their prospects and clients.

Using TypeCoach Verifier assessment, coached MBA graduates how to become better people managers in areas of interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, influence & negotiation skills, managing and leading teams and executive presence to advance in their careers and to move into leadership roles. On a scale of 1 through 10, my coaching expertise was consistently rated between a 9 and a 10.
Using taped conversations between Inside Sales staff and their customers, created a standardized set of sales techniques that included making introductions to new clients, introducing new products and/or product enhancements, handling objections and pricing.
