To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to recommend Courtney Johnson for your current available position. I am the Assistant Principal of Intermediate School 59 and worked with Courtney over the course of three years watching her grow from a classroom teacher to our Centrally Funded IEP teacher, and then venture off to become a CPSE administrator for the district. Under my leadership, Courtney conducted learning walks where she observed teacher lessons and provided me with her feedback on the lessons in alignment with observation rubrics. Courtney provided mentorship to new teachers and supported the pedagogical practices of continuing teachers by building a google classroom for the Special Education Department with resources that teachers could access independently and/or with her.

During her time at I.S. 59, Courtney hosted professional development meetings, served as our school’s Special Education Liaison, Centrally Funded IEP teacher, a member of the Instructional Leadership Team, developed our school website, edited our school videos, was the step team coach, supported the use of technology in our building, followed up with teachers to ensure IEPs met compliance dates, led the student ambassador club, supported the Summer bridge program, and visited other schools to aid in the recruitment of new students. Courtney wore many hats and was effective in doing so. She enjoyed coming to work and her efforts were illustrated in the positive responses she received from teachers, students, and staff alike. She is a collaborative leader and strategic thinker.

It is without reservation that I recommend Courtney for this position. She would be a great asset to any organization that she is a member of. If you would like additional information regarding Courtney, please do not hesitate to contact me at adzrqk@r.postjobfree.com. Sincerely,

Zynah Brooks-Dunson

Office of the President

March 25th, 2023

Good Afternoon,

I am writing this letter to recommend Courtney Johnson for this position. Courtney is a Lifetime member of Black Edfluencers-United and served as our Chair of Communications from Spring 2020 – Spring 2022. During her membership, Courtney has built relationships with school leaders, community based- organizations, and new members. Courtney directed the development of our organization’s website, organization of our first summit, and collaborated with a variety of stakeholders to uphold our mission and vision of serving Black educators, influencing others, and impacting black children. With a disproportionate number of black children recommended to Special Education services, Courtney has been an advocate for students with disabilities informing families of the realities that arrive with supporting a child with special needs. Courtney is able to mitigate conflict, use her voice to advocate for others, and gracefully change the perspective of others to grow in collaborative spaces that support students and families alike.

Courtney is a data-driven systems thinker that has worked through various strategies with me to advance our internal structures and I believe she would be a strong asset to your organization. She is able to make effective decisions and grow people to take ownership of their own leadership. If you are looking for a self-starter who can make logical decisions and grow others in the process, then Courtney is the candidate you need. She takes direction well and offers insight to grow perspective, projects, and events. In the event you would like further communication regarding Courtney, you can contact me at adzrqk@r.postjobfree.com. Please let me know when/if you hire her so I can offer my congratulations.
