I would like to explained why my resume doen’t have as much employment as others may have.

I worked for Sunrise Children’s Services as a Foster Care Specialist (Social worker). My employment ended with and the management of a local/regional touring band due to my illness. I had a child in 2016 and have had to overcome many challenges as a disabled single parent. I am now physically and mentally ready to be back in the workforce offering my wide ranging experiences to whatever tasks are placed before me.

I have CFIDS/ Fibromyalgia and I have had several flares that have left me nearly bedridden for year or more at a time. Currently, I feel I can manage a full time position as I did with Sunrise with little to no accommodations especially with remote work. I have had several internships during my college years that have given me a wide range or experience in many different and difficult situations in the public and private sectors. I have also led and/or participated in several community based events including helping to organize Celebrate the Child Day (child abuse awareness month) and holding motorcycle rides for flood victims. I am always up for a new experience and have no problem with hard work. As a Foster Care Specialist my job consisted in mostly case management and customer service,] including in-home evaluations, coordinating care between the clients and doctors, facilitating communication between family’s (biological and foster parents) with therapist and state social workers, doctors appointments, transporting youth to appointments, communicate with school districts, billing Medicaid, writing assessments to assess best placement for the Client. The job allowed me to work with diverse customer base. Generally, If they needed anything they had my number and could call 24/7s. The position revolved around keeping the foster parents happy and youth safe to preserve the placement. I had to think on my feet and outside of the box for Hollie behavior modification techniques.

I interned at Frankfort, KY for a state Senator during regular legislative session and in the Elliott County Circuit Clerks Office while attending UK. I can handle phone calls, emails and erratic people at the same time. I also have experience with filing and finding legal documents and the court system and locating and citing particular statutes. I have worked in public and private sectors and for a variety of government agencies. In many roles case management was my main task and dealing with the public customer service was an important role. I also am knowledgeable on hardware and software programs and can troubleshoot the issue. Many times I was the in-house computer technician. I can maneuver many different databases and platforms along with being certified in Microsoft Office. I learn and adapt quickly and am motivated to go back into the workplace and become a productive member of society and provider for my daughter. I hope that I get the opportunity to work with or for you.
