Manager of US DCOps for the Global Foundries account

Managed four teams supporting the UNIX/AIX, Windows, Storage and Tape Out infrastructure.

My teams consisted of fourteen support engineers maintain a 24x7x365 manufacturing environment.

Maintained all ServiceNow queues that the teams are responsible for

Coordinated software and hardware upgrades for the five US data centers.

Participated in daily Operations Status standup meeting representing the US datacenters

Extracted KPI and statistical information from ServiceNow to provide SLA information to the client.

Attended weekly Change Control meetings for any changes to the environments.

Chaired team status calls three times a week. One of these included the Global Operations Director from Global Foundries

Data Center Project Manager

Managed the construction of a $10 million state of the art, enterprise class data center on campus. The new center was delivered on time, on scope, and under budget. This project was part of the University’s 5 year Strategic Plan.

The entire Production environment was moved from the existing datacenter into the new one in 9 months (October 2016 thru June 2017) without ANY unscheduled downtime or Production impact.

Established and nurtured internal and external relationships with vendors and end users to achieve overall team success.

Meet weekly with all the trades to address any issues they were experiencing.

Managed all PCO (project change orders) pertaining to the data center with vendors.

Provided budgetary information to negotiate and purchase all of the new equipment (cabinets, servers, storage, etc.) necessary to migrate into the new 6500 sq. ft. space.

Managed the $12 million build-out of the center. Coordinated deliveries and installation of all infrastructure equipment for the center with various vendors as well as internal departments at UMass.

Lead a team of various department members in installing and/or migrating all of their applications and services to the new location. Held twice a week meetings with the teams to assist in resolving any issues that came up that were affecting the moves.

Worked with internal users and vendors to troubleshoot problems that arose due to new types of equipment being used or lack of internal expertise to migrate services and equipment

Kept senior management consistently informed of any issues via a daily updates as needed, and eventually with a weekly status report.

Served on a committee to suggest an on-call program to support all the services offered as well as any infrastructure issues

Installed and maintained a DCIM system to manage assets, physical location, network connectivity and other pertinent data for the new location. In addition the application also monitored all of the environmental equipment (HVAC, UPS, switchgear, etc.)

Maintains a team of professionals who maintain and monitor all the physical infrastructure of one data center on Campus and a satellite one located 15 miles away

Responsible for all security of both locations 24x7.

Assisted in the design of a Disaster Recovery plan for the IT Department. Prior to this the department did not have a plan in any form.

Participated in daily Change Control and Incident Response meetings and events.

June 2000 – April 2011 FIS Global Charlotte, NC

Infrastructure Program/Project Manager January 2005 - April 2011

Assumed all duties of the Data Center Director in his absence. Provided leadership and enforced all corporate and center standards during these times.

Chaired weekly Change Control process for all business units within the data center and affecting the data center.

Negotiated and maintained all SLA’s with business units concerning systems performance, deadlines and expectations.

Team lead for all risk analysis and root cause analysis and remedy for any incidents in the center or that affected the center.

Designed and implemented an off the shelf MFT software solution rather than the previous home grown application that was supported by a consultant, saving several million dollars a year.

Managed Client Delivery team, consist of nine professionals responsible for all MFT processing in the Charlotte center, transferring monetary and document files for 45 different business units within FIS, serving 5000+ banks around the world.

Maintained PCI compliance on all files handled by the team on behalf of the over 5000 financial institutions we supported nationally and internationally. The application is now mandated by the Governance team to be the de-facto transfer system for FIS due to its PCI certification and security features.

Directed all department responses in reference to both external FFIEC and OTS audits as well as internal SAS70 audits

Evaluated and enforced business needs of corporation while driving costs to a minimum for clients and company. This included defining server virtualization requirements for center wide projects.

Coordinated audit interviews and response handling and issue remedy for all external financial institution requested audits for the center. Worked with Corporate Security to implement any necessary audit compliance edicts they provided us.

Project lead in migrating all file transfers from an outsourced solution to an in-house MFT application we developed. In addition to added security and reliability, the move saved EDS several million dollars per year in outsourced costs

Project Lead while combining and converting Legacy systems into an existing system located across the country.

Planned and executed 16 successful data center relocations and consolidations over a three year period .Worked with all necessary teams on project planning, application testing as well as hardware and budgetary planning. All of the relocations/consolidations were completed on-time and below budget expectations.

Maintained all systems software and hardware maintenance for all upgrades/break fixes and releases. MISER and ITI/PREMIER applications.

Created an implemented a successful disaster recovery plan used each year in testing.

Computer Operations Manager

Managed a team of 45 operators, librarians and print operators supporting multiple mainframe systems for a $22 billion bank running the MISER online application,
