Objective: As a lover of children, my goal is to obtain a position teaching and caring for children that would instill in them a love of learning and a positive sense of self. I choose to help the next generation learn and be all that they are destined to be.

MCPS Classroom Monitor

Duties included greeting students off the bus, lunchroom monitoring, classroom assistance, playground supervision and general support to staff as needed. I spend much of my time working one on one with some of the more disruptive children, calming them down, sorting out problems and focusing them toward the task at hand.

Private Nanny

After the Covid Pandemic forced the closure of Happy Hands Learning Center, I was offered the position of personal Nanny for one of the Happy Hands Families. It was a particularly good fit for all of us, as the little girl had been in my charge since she came to Happy Hands as an infant. Together she and I took walks, explored nature, petting animals, did art, learned colors and shapes, sang songs, read stories, had picnics, went to the park to play with other toddlers and swing on the swings. My heart broke when her family moved to Greece, and I was no longer her Nanny.

Duties included getting to know each child and how they learn; Creating a friendly, empathetic and patient environment; setting and following the routine for each day, while allowing for adjustments when necessary; calmly dealing with tantrums, arguments, disruptions, etc by getting down to eye level and helping them work through the issue; daily reports to parents; taking them for outdoor play; doing art projects; having music time; supervising nap, snack and lunch time; interacting with the children in both English and Spanish; Circle time, Story time, Potty training; hygienic practices.
