MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK, LEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE Duties include maintaining inmate’s medical records, completion of paperwork for inmate’s outside medical appointments and emergency room visits. Completion of paperwork for transport of inmates to other jails or prisons to include pulling and logging all current medications and medical history. Provide inmate medical records to other jails and institutions according to regulations and request medical records as needed. Scheduling of inmate’s medical appointments (dental visits, x-rays, ultrasounds etc.). Preparation of charts for weekly doctor clinics and when needed by nurses, mental health staff, and other office personnel. Preparation of doctor and dental clinical lists. Receive dictation/doctor notes including those of confidential nature and place in charts. Maintain and pay all inmates medical bills (accounts payable). Bi- weekly charges to inmates for medication co-pays. Answer request to inmates concerning medical charges and phone calls to assist family and/or friends of inmates with any medical concerns of their family members. Direct contact with the sheriff, jail administrator, and other office personnel to assist with any medical questions or concerns of inmates medical care and billing concerns. Faxing, filing, ordering and purchasing of medical and office supplies, submission of procurement log for all purchases and other office duties and errands. MARCH. 2007 – OCT. 2012
