Title : Design and Verification of 7990 Ethernet MAC Controller

Duration: Jul 2008 to Dec 2008.

Description: It is an Ethernet MAC Controller and compatible for IEEE 802.3 protocol. It is flexible with onboard DMA controller. The basic task is it provides interface between LLC and Phy of OSI Model. It has 48 byte TX Buffer and 64 byte Rx buffer and data rate is 10Mbps.CSMA/CD and Back off algorithms are implemented and included CRC block. The VHDL Code is used for the design with XILINX ISE tools.

Designing the VHDL code for the ethernet Mac.

Testing the MAC Controller

Designing the CRC Module

Developed the Test Case suite for the CRC and MAC Controller

Client: Silicon Interfaces

Title : Design and Verification of 7990 Ethernet Chip.

Duration: Dec2007 to Jun.2008.

Description: Description: WLAN means wireless local Area Network. We adopted IEEE 802.11 protocol. The WLAN implemented with both DCF and PCF for all data, control and management packets in contention and contention free medium. The WLAN network is implemented for both IBSS and Infrastructure networks. In this each laptop or PC acts as a STA or an AP. The interface is PCI Bus. The basic Modules are PCI bus interfacing, Transmitter, Receiver and radio BBP Interface. We are developing the code for every module by using VHDL. The code is synthesized by using XST on the FPGA Spartan3.

Designing the Verilog code for the Ethernet.

Testing the 7990 Ethernet Chip.

Designing the PCI bus interface.

Developed the Test Case suite for the PCI bus, Transmitter and Receiver interface.
