National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka Working as the Project Manager under the National Water Supply and Drainage Board in Ambatale Water Supply Systems Improvement & Energy Saving Project worth USD 100 million under AFD funds (Agence Francaise De Development) France.

Planning and scheduling of project works.

Ensuring the construction plans and activities meet guidelines and specifications of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, particular specifications and other civil works and law regulations.

Monitoring and Supervision of all project works carried out by Engineers and Engineering Assistants to ensure the efficient running of project work as per the given specifications.

Making regular inspection of project works such as pipe-laying works (1200mm diameter Ductile Iron pipe – 15 km long), road reinstatement, pressure testing, Construction of 15,000m3 and 8,000m3 Ground Reservoirs, Construction of 22,000m3/day capacity Back wash recovery treatment plant at the water treatment plant.

Responsible for all the construction activities done in the sites as per the method statements and construction drawings, specially material usage, testing arrangements, rebar and formworks, all the safety measures and housekeeping in the sites.

Gained experience and knowledge in quality controlling of all project works.

Gained experience and knowledge of pipeline pressure testing, flushing and disinfectant testing, concrete cube testing, Mackintosh test, soil compaction tests and all construction materials testing.

Giving materials approvals for Ductile Iron (DI) pipes, fittings and all construction materials.

National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka Worked as the Chief Engineer in Kalugaga Water Supply Project, Supplying & Laying of UPVC/DI Pipes, Fittings, Specials and DI Valves for Rehabilitation of Distribution System in Southern part of Colombo area and Construction of 60,000 m3/day capacity Water Treatment Plant at Kadana under stage- 02 (Total cost of USD 100 million) under JICA funds, Japan.

Supervision works of project works such as pipe-laying works (1200mm diameter Ductile Iron pipe – 18 km long and 100/110/150/160/200/225 mm dia ductile iron and pvc pipes – 258 Km), road reinstatement, pressure testing, Construction of 15,000m3 Ground Reservoirs, Construction of 60,000m3/day capacity water treatment plant.

Supervision works of pipe-laying works (225/200/160/150/110/100/90/80/63/50mm diameter PVC/Ductile Iron pipe – 250 km), road reinstatement, pressure testing.

Ensuring adequate safe drinking water supply to consumers.

Ensuring a proper operation and maintenance system in the water supply schemes in order to minimize the interruption of supply due to breakdowns.

Monitoring of preventive maintenance programs carried out by electromechanical section to ensure the efficient running of water supply schemes.

Supervision of preparing estimates for pipeline extensions, construction works and rehabilitation works handled by the Regional office.
