The system provided a secure managed self- service rendition / source delivery service worldwide.

• Defined and created required taxonomy, schemas, file naming standards, ingest and export formats utilized, and supporting workflows based on client input from various marketing groups within Symantec.

• Integrated Adobe AEM DAMs with Workfront project management application and 3rd party video cloud platform for secure, managed workflow from WIP to delivery and archive.

• Owned all video player management and integrations with analytics and SEO. (5,000 videos)

• Evaluated user cases throughout Corp. Marketing to define and build automated workflows for all assets.

• Defined and deployed secure worldwide live streaming service for internal all-hands and company communications.

Principal Digital Media Architect

I was responsible for all Brand asset workflows from edit room to final publishing platforms and the management of associated metadata and rendition distribution.

• Defined and owned the Digital Asset Management system (OpenText) which houses all Marketing brand assets. The system contained approx. 95,000 assets and provides access to those assets to 130,000 employees offering secure, managed self- service rendition delivery service worldwide.

• Performed initial discovery with Marketing Brand managers to address unique requirements per each silo (Design, Logos, Video, Social etc.)

• Designed and implemented metadata schemas, taxonomy, naming standards and all DB integrations required by various line managers.

• Owned and managed all video player integrations with analytics and SEO.

• Responsible for the technical implementation and operation of the Oracle Media Network site. This site houses approx. 5,000 public-facing video assets with dynamically updated assets from the video cloud delivery platform.

• Defined and built all automated workflows for assets. When an asset is approved, it is encoded / exported for all required formats and distributed to all end-point platforms (Brightcove, Akamai, YouTube etc.) and into the asset management application for archive and employee access. Secure, managed asset flow outbound and inbound enables efficient asset exchange with partners, vendors and agencies.

• Managed a team which provided new product and vendor evaluation and comparison, systems administration, media management administration, and database / Java development in support of all video platforms and the Digital Asset Management system.

• Managed and maintained production video encoding systems and their integration with required systems and workflows. SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC, Menlo Park, CA 9/2001 – 7/2010 Senior Program Manager / Operations, Media Strategy and Production group Managed a team of 32 and oversaw day-to-day program management for the group that brought an incredibly successful online video program to Sun Microsystems Inc. I drove and managed all initial project development, deployment and execution of the worldwide audio / video streaming program for multimedia delivery capability.

• Defined, managed, and owned all audio / video asset hosting and publishing from asset encode to live availability.

• Complete redesign in 2009 of process reduced the time frame for publication that was up to 24 hours, to as little as 5 minutes.

• Defined and owned the Digital Asset Management System (Artesia) project from initial vendor evaluation, multi-dept funding, integration, and training. Achieved world-wide deployment within 1 year and full payback in 9 months.

• Drove efforts for the co-development and deployment of Solaris-based video players (RealMedia, Adobe Flash), which enabled native video streaming to Sun-based systems throughout the company, providing cost-free video players with full compliance and support for the Sun Solaris operating system used throughout the world.

• Managed and negotiated all aspects of vendor/partner relationships. Constant review and control of licensing and pricing enabled highly efficient costs as capability and bandwidth were greatly expanded.

• Built and distributed monthly metrics reporting for all Sun-based servers, providing content owners accountability with proven, continued growth.
