PROFESSIONAL (NON-TEACHING) WORK HISTORY

5-1-19 to 2021: Self-employed mental health therapist Council Bluffs, IA 51503. Am a mental health provider for most insurances. 2016 – 2019 (7-1-16 to 4-30-19) Psychotherapist (contract) with Horizon Therapy Group, LLC. Work about 30 hours per week seeing insurance referred clients. Currently serve as a provider for 15 different insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. 2014-2016 (5-1-2014 to 7-1-16) SUMMARY: Relocated to the Omaha/Council Bluffs area to be closer to kids and grandchildren to help with a grandchild with Down Syndrome. I did some adjunct teaching. Was Keynote speaker for Illinois Head Start State Conference in 2016, Also contracted to set up and conduct continuing education workshops through the Iowa Chapter of NASW. As of 11-8-16 I was contracted with Horizon Therapy Group, LLC to do clinical therapy with clients. 2004-2014 University appointments as a faculty. Funded by a $300,000 grant from The Colorado Trust of Denver, CO. Hired and supervised a clinical social worker and nurse in project administration in collaboration with Hospice of Larimer County, Fort Collins, CO. Collected and analyzed qualitative and quantitative data on palliative care patients served by LCPC.
