Global Lab Operations Manager

Directed the requirement from engineering and test teams. Worked with senior executives to oversee and delegate allocation/reservation of lab space and equipment.

Designed / defined the requirement and set-up, of global labs (Santa Clara, Portland, India, China and Vietnam)

Drove all the requirements for the labs with input from C- and D-level executives. Built bench-labs and designed a state of the art data center for short term (6 month after completion) and future expansions with unknown needs, including power, HVAC, network, lighting and all aspects related to the bench-labs and data center.

Took accountability and ownership of all logistics, security, inventory and audits across all labs globally.

Directed the study/evaluation for a global asset system to manage all R&D / test equipment in accordance with local/global laws and regulations.

Oversaw and directed the global management, tracking, and calibration of lab test equipment.

Implemented Task Management System for lab requests. Drove team to increase resource utilization and visual backlog.

Executed and managed together with engineers, purchasing and external vendors sourcing of all lab material, equipment procurement and equipment rental.

Took ownership and corrected the financial asset list, to use the correct classification, value and useful lifespan per SOX and local & global laws.

Defined, communicated, implemented, and enforced policies / standards for lab safety, ESD, power, noise mitigation and compliance.

Directed towards a global lab budget, to replace the current silo based, each department have its own budget.

Took ownership of lab procedures and best practices across multiple labs including several geographies. Delegated to the local lab manager to tweak according to local policies.

Took ownership and enforced that all shipping from and to any lab following local and global laws /regulations such as SOX, and local import laws.

MediaKind • Santa Clara, CA • February 2019 to December 2020

Global Lab Operations Manager (January 2020 to December 2020)

Managed the global budget, procurement and all aspects of operation, delivery and support of the labs, both on premise and data centers.

Built an asset tracking system to track corporate and R&D IT assets.

Created and managed the change management policy for global IT, both R&D and enterprise for Mediakind.

Replaced 2,000-plus workstations on global basis. Handled vendor selection and managed the team of internal and external teams during deployment

As the global lab manager, moved all the assets -- financially and physically -- per SOX policies and global laws.

Oversaw the replacement of Ericsson’s IT tools to MediaKind’s new tools globally.

Estimated the possible costs of equipment and machinery required for completion of projects.

Divestiture Director (February 2019 to December 2019

Took on vital role in the divestiture Transfer Service Agreement (TSA) program, moving operations from Ericsson Media Solutions to the new established company, Mediakind. Managed a global team of 10 direct reports, and a total team of 18.

Defined and designed IT Policy for the newly created Company from Ground Zero.

Established the corporate workstation policy throughout the company. Selected hardware, selected vendors, and managed the migration program from legacy to new standard (2000-plus) workstations globally.

Moved USA lab from Ericsson facilities to a data-center and reduced the footprint from 126 racks to 50. Reduced operations expenses by $2M annually.

Executed the program for the core IT roll-out for MediaKind, Exchange, AD and others. Served as Program Manager for the “disconnect” from Ericsson's global network to MediaKind's.

Relocated two R&D and test labs in China from Ericsson facility to the new Mediakind lab. Consolidated and relocated two compression labs in USA, relocated a lab in Spain Closed a lab and office in Ireland, 25 racks and office spaces for 40 staff, with full restoration to the landlord, asset removal and recycling per Irish local laws and regulations.

Ericsson Media Solutions Inc • Santa Clara, CA • April 2015 to January 2019

Global Lab Transformation Director (June 2018 to January 2019)

Served as global program manager for the optimizations of the labs, closed 10 in Ireland, USA, Canada, Sweden, UK, Portugal, China, South Korea, Singapore.

Built and established a new R&D, support and test lab in India sized for 80 racks.

Conducted a complete bottoms-up inventory. Analyzed the usage of labs and equipment and reduction with executives and stake holders.

Set up and created off-shore Help Desk.

Ensured compliance with state and federal regulations.

Global Lab Delivery Manager (April 2015 to May 2018)

Managed full capital expense (Capex) and US$200M Operating Expense (Opex) budget globally, for facilities in USA, Spain, UK, China, Ireland, France, Sweden and Israel. Lab included client test lab, regression lab, DC and RF lab. Managed a global team of eight direct reports, with an additional ten on the team for the TV Platform product documentation.

Spearheaded complete function and operational leadership of installment of computers to the research and development unit.

Directed budget, forecast, procurement, business review, SOX compliance and asset management globally for the labs.

Revamped backup, disaster recovery and all associated functions and services to deliver 24/7 availability.

Took ownership of the yearly budget and forecast and fine-tuned that operation by working closely with senior vice presidents.
