Currently working in Houston at the Chevron Technical Center as a Wells benchmarking engineer providing competitive performance and benchmarking services to deepwater asset class business unit across the corporation. Prior to this, I worked ~4 years (2018-2022) within the technical training center’s global well control group, coordinating well control schools for IADC certification. I also taught surface and subsea drilling and workover and well intervention well control classes. At Chevron Nigeria Ltd., between 2011 and 2018, I supported multiple deepwater, offshore and onshore field development well design, planning and execution projects such as Agbami field development drilling, Sonam and Abiteye major capital project (MCP) etc.

While at the Shell Petroleum development company, I functioned as a drilling supervisor on land rigs executing drilling and completions operations and had some performance oversight for inter-location/state rig move. Prior to this role, I function as a night drilling and assistant drilling supervisor and successfully passed and completed the Shell round 1 and 2 Wells engineer exams.

At SOWSCO, I functioned as a field engineer providing through tubing intervention pumping services for scale inhibition, well suspension cementing jobs, hydraulic workover unit pumping jobs as well as pipeline chemical cleaning, pigging and pressure testing.

Notable Chevron projects supported:

oChevrons Gulf of Mexico NOJV partners competitive benchmarking and subsequent 2024 business planning target setting for competitive performance

oUpgrade of the Chevron well control v1 handbook to the current v2 incorporating a subsea well intervention well control segment

oAgbami infill drilling major capital project planning, Agbami 35 development well planning and execution, Sonam Non associated gas (NAG) MCP and project execution, and Abiteye NAG well design and planning.

Dec-2011 to Jul-2018 - Drilling Engineer at Chevron Nigeria Ltd., Nigeria.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As drilling engineer, provided well design, planning and execution expertise for various development drilling projects to achieve both asset team and the wells functional value based well objectives of quality well and design for control and guarantee containment respectively. For major capital projects, provided in addition to the above, well basis of design, basis of probabilistic estimates, and defended these in the typical subsurface technical review sessions as well as during the estimates and schedule assurance reviews prior to FID approval. Engineering expertise provided include casing shoe selections based on PP/FG, top down, and bottom up well design, casing design load cases verifications using Houston based SMEs per internal company well design assurance process for wells of high complexity, service company BHA design and torque & drag, drilling fluids and cementing design approval.

As field drilling engineer, I was responsible for the development of all well center and rig move plan of action from the approved drilling program for well execution, provide engineering expertise for all well center operations and incorporated captured lessons and best practices into plan of action as updates. Provided material and equipment updates to the rig site project manager for logistics management.

Projects delivered include:

1. Abiteye NAG-1 well planning (Phase 2 and 3 of the well delivery process).

Scope: $25MM onshore swamp well is first of two to be drilled within a virgin fault block with little subsurface information. Well was planned to be of large bore profile similar to Sonam wells and located in 15 ft of water to be drilled using a bottom supported drilling barge.

2. Offshore - Sonam 5, 7ST and 8 well execution (phase 4 of the well delivery process)

Scope: provided execution expertise for the execution of wells 5, 7ST and 8. Monitored and reported out operations progress. Provided addendum to drilling program in cases of change of plan due to unscheduled events.

3. Sonam - Major Capital Project planning (phases 1-3 of the well delivery process)

Scope: $250MM, 7 Sonam & 1 Okan Hi-Complexity (due to environmental sensitivity in case of a blowout) offshore platform wells in 200 ft of water, shallow gas hazard beneath platform, zero discharge operating environment and Chevron Nigeria’s first gas MCP in the WellSafe era.

4. Onshore - Swamp Gbokoda 62 and 65 horizontal wells

Scope: ~$31MM, 2 shallow horizontal development wells in highly reactive shale formations. 62’s appraisal leg was drilled, cored for EOR studies and subsequently plugged and abandoned.

5. Deepwater Agbami - Major Capital Project (phases 1-3 of the well delivery process).

Scope: $1.2 Billion, 6-Intelligent well campaign in 4800 ft water depth from new drill centers. Field has a narrow drilling window, shallow hazards, and complex faulting systems at top of the structure.

6. Deepwater Agbami 35 - well planning and execution (phases 4 of the well delivery process).

Scope: $113M well in 4800 ft water depth at a new drill center with several shallow hazard potential, narrow PP/FG window, longest 13-5/8’’ casing and first time drilling the field with sail angle of 60deg, highest at the time.

7. Deepwater Agbami field drilling engineer (phases 4 of the well delivery process).

Provided field-based well engineering expertise for executing development drilling and intelligent completions (double and triple zone) program in 4800 – 5000ft of water with several shallow hazard anomalies, narrow PP/FG window and completion fluid losses challenges.

Other responsibilities led include:

WellSafe Champion – led the development of Technical Standards in line with functional assurance certification requirement. Business unit certification was obtained in March 2015. I also supported the WellSafe Initial rig Certification for the Pacific Bora and OES Respect.

Contract owner for the DrilQuip $115MM Subsea Well Head and Tubular Services
