Douglas L (Buddy) Brown
Ft. Worth, TX 76137
Aaugust 11, 2023
Graduated from Harlingen High School in Harlingen Texas in 1966 then attended Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas for 2 years where I studied business. It’s now UT at Edinburg,Texas
I married my wife in 1968 and we celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary this past April.
I work on my own cars when possible. I’ve installed shocks on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe and brakes with the aid of my oldest son. I’ve built and flown remote control airplanes for years although with my current job I just don’t have time to do it anymore although I’d do it again if time permitted.
After college, I worked for Cook Paint and Varnish Company as a manger of several locations followed by employment as an insurance investigator with Equifax.
I then worked for Gateway Printing & Office Supply, Inc. For 30 years. I started there assembling office furniture and after a few years became 1/2 owner in the company. When I started to work there the company was grossing $1 million per year. When I left the company was grossing about $6 million per year.
I sold my interest in the company 20 years ago when grandchildren were born in Grapevine, TX. My wife and I moved to North Texas shortly thereafter.
I stayed retired for a couple of years doing some traveling in our RV and on our motorcycle.
I decided I needed more to do so my wife and I started Lasting Expressions LLC, a company that does embroidery, screen printing and laser engraving. We did this for 16 years but when COVID-19 hit our business crumbled like many others.
I’m currently employed with DHL in Roanoke, TX. This company manages a warehouse for 3M A/C filters and I drive a forklift for them. I have been employed there for two years as a fork lift driver.
I became interested in becoming a DJ in February 2022 after attending a company Christmas party which had I’ve had over 49 hours of instruction from DFW DJ School owned by David Jones who has been a DJ for over 30 years. I’ve done several parties including a 50 year old birthday party last Saturday night at the Lorenzo Hotel in Dallas. We kept the dance floor full about 90% of the evening.
Sincerely,
Douglas L. (Buddy) Brown
