My name is Charlie Waugh and I’m a seasoned Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience. I recently was made aware of your job posting and I’m writing to express my interest in helping at such an outstanding institution as Auburn University at Montgomery. In my current role as a Nurse Practitioner, I am responsible for the more than 1300 inmate population at Staton Correctional Facility. I take care of all chronic care patients, which includes, CAD, HTN, HLD, Thyroid and seizure disorders, Diabetes, Hepatitis, etc. I also care for emergency issues including, but not limited to, over-doses, STD’s, abscesses, lacerations, suturing, and prescribing medications.

Prior to my position in corrections, I have over 30 years of cardiac experience. I have worked in several of the best hospitals in Birmingham taking history’s and physicals, prescribing medications, performing stress tests, and interpreting EKG’s.
