NEGOTIATION PERSONNEL/HR MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS PLANNING WAREHOUSE/DISTRIBUTION

As Warehouse Manager and Inside Sales for Copper State Bolt & Nut my responsibility included all Warehouse functions which encompassed receiving, Shipping, Customer throughput / Order Fulfillment, Will Call’s, Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Counting and Inventory adjustments when needed. Inside Sales responsibilities encompassed helping Walk-in customers, answering phones, writing up orders, researching and advising products for customers, researching customer discrepancies in orders and invoices. Opening and closing of the facility while the Outside Sales person and regional Manager are out of the office which as approximately 3 days per week.

As Warehouse / Delivery Manager for Consolidate Electrical Distributors ( CED ) my responsibilities encompassed all Warehouse functions such as Receiving incoming materials, stocking, shipping and order fulfillment. Other responsibilities included was the accurate delivery of materials to in-town customers as well as North and South Route customers as well as the supervision of 1 other delivery driver.

As Materials Manager for Howell Munitions Technology my responsibilities included the management and supervision of 3 buyers and 14 warehouse personnel who are responsible for all purchasing and procurement of all raw materials needed to manufacture and produce loaded ammunition as well as the warehouse, distribution, shipping and receiving of finished product to customers and raw materials to both internal and external contract customers.

As Purchasing Manager for SunOpta my responsibilities included management of two buyers and the oversight of all purchasing, procurement, inventory control as well as contract pricing negotiations of all raw ingredients and packaging for both the Carson City, NV and Omak, WA manufacturing facilities.

As Procurement / Inventory manager for Continental Mills in Pendleton, OR my responsibilities included the procurement of all raw materials and packaging to support 130 million pounds or production annually of bulk potato coatings, pancake and crepe batters as well as cookie, bread and muffin mixes for proprietary customers and the Krustez trademark brand on a JIT basis. Order placement (purchasing) of raw materials into an outside warehouse and the transfers to the main production facility as well as the inventory control of both production plant and outside warehouse.

As Director of Purchasing for Kings Command Foods, successfully negotiated raw materials and packaging pricing, and analyzed and finalized favorable annual contracts for both company’s manufacturing facilities--saving $475,000 and reducing companies bank note from 7 million to 3.5 million within 2-year time period.

Established liaison and communicated regularly with key Shipping industry contacts to negotiate more favorable domestic and international carrier contracts and rate tariffs. Negotiated purchasing, carrier contracts and rate tariffs with materials suppliers, domestic and international forwarders and carriers for USA and Europe facilities.

Managed two departments consisting of 18 FTEs. Proactively managed comprehensive Warehouse functions, including raw materials receiving, picking and staging of raw materials for production, picking and staging finished goods for shipping/delivery, delivery scheduling and liquid product scheduling per customer demands, etc.. Ultimate result was a streamlined operation facilitating sustainable growth.

POLICY/PROCEDURE & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT LEAN/SIX SIGMA STRATEGIES LOGISTICS

Developed and implemented a worldwide Logistics & Distribution program encompassing all available modes of transportation (RORO, LTL, TL, LCL, CL), saving $150,000 in first year alone. Applied Six Sigma/LEAN principles to increase Manufacturing throughput to Warehouse and Distribution by 62%, resulting in significantly higher customer satisfaction rates. Increased warehouse and distribution productivity by 74%, accuracy by 85% while maintaining a 99% on-time delivery performance to customers.

Applied LEAN management strategies to effectively consolidate and streamline distribution and logistics, resulting in greater efficiency, accuracy and productivity while reducing company and customer costs. Examples of successes included 45% increased productivity, 55% higher throughput and 98% inventory accuracy.

Managed Distribution functions. Developed and implemented a cogent, long-term departmental strategy in support of organization’s overarching goals. Successfully developed more efficient and cost-effective delivery routes, fleet leases, purchases, maintenance contracts and fuel options, with no commensurate sacrifice in service quality. Collaborated with Production and Packaging, applying LEAN principles to ensure a more seamless flow of products to Distribution.
