Goal:

To secure a position that will make use of my 42 years of providing therapeutic recreation for people of all ages, phys- ical and mental abilities using special flying disc sports and activities. Using different types of discs (large, small, soft cloth, special spinners, etc.) lets me tailor activities to the physical and/or developmental abilities of each individual, to improve their coordination, self-esteem and social skills. Provided overall direction and guidance for the execution of business development strategies that aligned with SCFU’ priorities, mission, vision and core values. I worked with internal stakeholders across the organization to establish “partnerships” within the business community in support of organizational growth. Created and managed employment program for adults on the autism spectrum. “Individuals” are referred to program, we determine what skills each individual is most likely to be good at and enhance those skills. We find an employment opportunity and put the individual into the job. Our staff goes to work every day to help them learn their new responsi- bilities. When placement is successful we fade or reduce our presence at the work site, transferring leadership to the new supervisor.
