Lead NPI’s Continuous Improvement (CI) Program resulting in an annual savings or 1.67MUSD vs the target of 0.77MUSD for 2022. NPI was the only mill in the Glatfelter group to actually execute a CI program.

Conceptualized and implemented a boiler operation strategy that resulted in annual fuel savings of 189,000USD without any capital expenditure

Leadership and training of special committee for basis weight and moisture stabilization resulting in around 3% higher net output without any capital or operating expense

Designed a method of microscopy analysis to identify non-abaca fibers enabling the quick evaluation of incoming raw materials resulting in total elimination of the very high losses from producing pulp form non-abaca fibers.

Re-engineered a failed low density cleaner line project that resulted in completion of the project within the budget limits and achieved a cleaning improvement of an average of 25% vs the project target of 20%

Implemented a project to replace a defective CO2 laser label and barcode printing system at 50% the cost of the allocated budget

Proposed the use of shrink fabrics instead of stainless-steel mesh for the Drum Washers resulting in savings of over 400% vs the cost of stainless-steel mesh on top of a less hazardous and faster installation method. Proposed and installed a PlantPax DCS that resulted in the capability to measure and better control the amount of water for the digesters and the washing chests.

Transferred the cooking line main steam controls to the DCS, preventing a potential 5-day unscheduled shutdown due to the failure of the cooking line main steam controller.

Spearheaded a special working committee to improve availability rate of flat screens from less than 50% to more than 95% resulting in lower downtime due to flat screen downtime issues.

Trained maintenance personnel in proper inspection and maintenance of flat screens resulting in lower breakdowns on top of a lower spare parts inventory.

Designed automatic boiler feed water tank level control using old unused parts and sensors from a redesigned project.
