Assured dial tone by using a side-kick from the cross-box to the residence to confirm dial tone. Responsible for repairing or drying cable pairs in underground manholes. Drove repair by reading engineering plats for outside plant, repair cut cable PIC, PULP, and other cable types. Rehab old facilities and damaged Telco structures, splicing in 49A, and other kind of fix count terminals.
Installation Maintenance: Tested circuits and components of malfunctioning telecommunications equipment to isolate sources of malfunctions, using test meters, circuit diagrams, polarity probes, and other hand tools. Tested repaired, newly installed, or updated equipment to ensure that it functioned properly and conforms to specifications, using test equipment and observation. Gained proper certifications and drove crew trucks to and from work areas. Inspected equipment on a regular basis in order to ensure proper functioning.
