EXPERIENCE/ PERSONALITY PERTINENT TO THIS POSITION
I have worked since I was 15 years old in one capacity or another. The majority of my college education was obtained while my children were young and much of the time while their father was deployed.
While serving as a social worker in a multilevel facility. I simultaneously continued to utilize my Physical Therapy Assistant skills on a per diem status. From 2007 to 2013, I assisted my son, with cerebral palsy, in his pursuit of moving out of a nursing home by forming a volunteer group to increase public awareness, advocate, fund-raise and collaborate with state officials. The results were a formation of a new waiver program within the state that allowed severely physically disabled adults with IQ’s greater than 70, to pursue education, housing & employment.
In October of 2013, with the majority of my experiences having been in long-term care and my son now in his own apartment, I decided to take a reprieve from LTC and social work and ventured into an out-patient physical therapy setting in order to refresh and broaden my skills.
In 2017 the need to be more involved in my grandchildren’s lives and escape lengthy winters, I began a yearly sojourn to Albuquerque NM. I sought employment on a per diem basis and have returned to the same facility for 6 years on a very welcoming basis.
I am in Maine May – January and seeking the same employment opportunity afforded me in New Mexico. My ideal job would be Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 8-10 hrs/day at a compensatory rate of $35.00/hr.
I do not require benefits and believe, from past experience, this to be a fair rate.
