Over thirty (32) years of experience in Insurance (Life, Annuity, Health, and Property & Casualty) and Financial Services. Diversified experience in IT Consulting for national and multi-national corporations. Key member in supporting recent Variable Annuity Products Guaranteed Premium Protection (GPP), Guaranteed Minimum Income Benefit (GMIB), Guaranteed Minimum Withdrawal Benefit (GMWB), Guaranteed Lifetime Withdrawal Benefit (GLWB) and Guaranteed Minimum Death Benefit Rider (GMDBR).

Professional Programmer Analyst
Technical Lead on the point in time conversion of Universal Life Insurance policies from an existing Admin System (VCS1/VTG1) to wmA. Independently heading the source side effort to create VTG1 Policy / Accounting / Change / Balancing / Archive Neutral Files and over ten (10) years of transaction history. This involves the full spectrum of activity including payments, withdrawals, surrenders, loans, lapse, reinstatement, and disability for over 200,000 policies. Analysis of source data (database scans), including meetings with the current users to obtain/calculate beginning values are the primary/daily responsibilities. This system was successfully converted on 8/17/2022.
Currently the Technical Lead of another Universal Life conversion (LCFS/ULS) to wmA. This involves the same responsibilities as stated above, with the added caveat of independently deciphering the source systems as supporting IT personnel does not exist. The challenge here is to locate as much history as possible to provide beginning values for a point in time conversion.

As part of a team working on the conversion of Traditional Life Insurance policies from an Admin System (PMF) to wmA, heading the effort to bring over two (2) years of transaction history. This involves a plethora of data including payments, dividends, loans, non-forfeiture, lapse, reinstatement, disability, and vanishing premiums for over 700,000 policies. Analysis of source data, including meetings with the current users, and, coordination of programming that creates Premium, Dividend and Loan Accounting files are the primary responsibility.

Key member of the Annuity Initiative team (VANTAGE-ONE System version 15.0), which consisted of 100 defined projects which were prioritized for implementation from 2013 through 2018. Assisted in the redesign and implementation of the Rider Benefits Charging and Rider Value Calculation processes, the successes which have led to the approval and funding of new rider(s) sales and the extensive conversion of the existing rider(s) process. Played a major role in implementing Realtime Transactions (Valuation Inquiry) through a DTCC interface for a large Broker/Dealer adhering to DTCC/XML Schema standards. Also worked on a RPS to wmA conversion and Living Benefits Claim system (Reinsurance).

Technical lead in charge of Annuity production support for the VANTAGE-ONE System (version 12.0). Responsible for establishing the protocol, incorporating both IT and Policy Services, in the process of creating, prioritizing and budgeting system defects/service requests and assigning resources to resolve those discrepancies. Played a major role in creating the process of automating a one day policy reissue procedure to minimize gain/loss. Assisted in the revamping of policy valuation, in both the administration update and downstream systems, in order to make it more efficient and to maintain the SLA (Service Level Agreement), which eventually led to removing it from the mainframe and onto UNIX.

Trained an entry level IT Staff with the particulars of the software in order to support product enhancement. Designed a procedure to alleviate the creation of Annual Statements, delaying the process until the weekend for millions of policies in order to preserve the SLA (Service Level Agreement) and the associated monetary expense thereof. Assisted in the software transference during the corporate takeover by Manulife.

Responsibilities included all phases of software development from design, coding, testing (unit, system, regression) right through to implementation and support. This was done to support a LifeComm/Landmark conversion and all new loan business. Multiple loan processing, variable loan interest, loan frequency/status change, PAC processing, loan capitalization, loan re-amortization and loan reconciliation were just a few of the new features added. Cash flow and valuation procedures were altered to support the changes. Also responsible to retrofit all loan modifications for the parent company, National Life of Vermont, to support new product development.

Responsibilities also included the generation of hundreds of database scans to verify the integrity of the conversion and to correct it via a file fix when necessary.
