I am a focused professional who is committed to safeguarding the medical needs, comfort, and emotional well-being of patients under my care. I have superb communication and managerial skills that enable me to develop a good rapport with the patients, their families, friends and core workers. I also possess excellent observational skills and am knowledgeable in a variety of general nursing care activities and I believe in using evidence based approach in patient care. Currently, I am keen to develop my knowledge across a range of health care practices and to achieve this am looking for a suitable role.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

Certificate in HIV/AIDS Epidemiology Associate Investigator from University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine in 2017.

Postgraduate course on Spinal Cord Injuries (2013) at University of Botswana School of Medicine

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science from University of Botswana in 2012.

Diploma in General Nursing from Francistown Institute of Health Sciences in 2001.

WORK EXPERIENCE

1.FRANCISTOWN PRISON IDCC(2018 -Present)

Current position: Senior Nursing Officer (Site Coordinator)

My Duties include

Coordinating the activities of the ARV clinic with regard to ARV program.

Managing personnel and effective use of resources within the clinic.

Monitors implementation of nursing care standards to ensure compliance.

Training other clinicians on Clinical auditing process.

Training clinicians on health care quality standards.

Ensuring that nursing staff are in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards.

Coordinates and monitoring implementation patient safety initiatives in the clinic.

Ensures customer satisfaction through continuously monitoring patient satisfaction survey.

2. GREATER FRANCISTOWN DHMT(MATSILOJE CLINIC-2017-2018)

My duties include:

-Prescribing and dispensing of antiretroviral drugs (ARV’s) to stable patients on treatment.

-Initiating stable patients on antiretroviral drugs.

-Providing continual education to patients on issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS.

-Pre and post test counseling on HIV\AIDS.

-Monitoring patients’ Cd4 count, viral load and other tests such as LFT’s and FBC and also interpreting the results.

-Entering patient’s data into the computer using Patient information Management System II (PIMS II).

-Providing adherence counseling to patients eligible for antiretroviral drugs and those on treatment to ensure good adherence.

-Providing follow-up to patients on ARV therapy.

-Compiling monthly report and sending it to Ministry’s HIV/AIDS office and District Health Team.

-Mentoring nurses within the hospital and clinics on how to carry out adherence counseling, patients follow-up and also teaching nurses on the clinical care of patients on ARV’s.
