Objective
I am a professional accountant with experience of which I have passion to share and learn more. My ambition is to play an important role in guarding entities in order not to incur needless expenses and to control and reduce costs. My vision is to see that organisations make conscious decision on matters relating to finance and administrative related issues, i.e. observing, monitoring and maintaining standards to ensure compliance. My work with the West African Examinations Council has given me the urge to continue to work in any organisation(s) that have passion to build the capacity of its employees.

Key Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES AS ACCOUNTANT:
A. Financial Records and Reporting
1.Maintain the integrity of all financial records by verifying all transactions for accuracy, relevance and completeness
2.Ensure the timely submission of accurate monthly/quarterly/yearly financial reports and supporting schedules i.e. Assets and Liabilities Returns, Income and Expenditure Statements, Bank Reconciliations etc
3.Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately posted into the system
4.Actively treat and monitor receivables and payables to ensure these are expeditiously cleared, and prepayments amortized on a monthly basis
5.producing reports and recommendations following internal audits or public sector 'value for money' audits
6.Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, procurement procedures, loan agreement, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
B. Cash Management
1. Ensure all cheque/cash disbursement requests are processed within reasonable time
2. Prepare and submit realistic cash forecasts with timeliness
3. Ensure the adequacy of cash on hand for operations
4. Ensure that all cash and cheques received during a business day are paid into the Bank the following day
5. Ensure that bank balances are properly managed
6. Ensure that official receipts are issued for all monies received by the Cashier/Bank
C. Budget Preparation and Tracking
1. Major Player in the preparation of the budget
2. Ensure the efficient management of existing/current budget and its modifications (Virement etc)
3. Prepare monthly/quarterly budgetary performance reports for management
D. Monitoring/Supervising the use office Petty Cash
E. Payroll:
a. computation of all payroll matters and ensure timely payment of staff salary
b. computation of all Statutory obligations (NRA, NASSIT) and ensure timely payment/settlement of these obligations
F. To work in collaboration with other Line Managers (Sales Manager, Warehouse Manager) for timely request for all releases.
RESPONSIBILITES AS SENIOR INTERNAL AUDITOR:
G. Internal Control
1. Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and recommend improvement;
2. Ensure effective system of internal control to prevent or detect errors, fraud and that it is operating satisfactorily;
3. Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes
2. Assess compliance with policies, and critical examination of operations and procedures;
3. Review operations to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives and whether the operations are being carried out as planned;
4 Prepare periodic reports by providing Management with timely information, appraisals, recommendations regarding activities examined and advice on significant issues;
5. Co-operate with the Council’s External Auditors in their work leading to the certification of the Council’s annual accounts and operation report,
6. Carry out special assignments given from time to time on request
RESPONSIBILITIES AS SENIOR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR:
H. Branch Controller
1.Represent the Head of National Office in the northern provinces;
2.Sensitization of the public on WAEC related issues;
3.Liaise with schools/clients in all pre examination arrangements and conduct of examinations;
4.Distribution and receipt of pre-examination documents;
5.Distribution and receipt of confidential materials for the conduct of examinations;
6.Monitoring the conduct of examinations;
7.Forwarding of post examination materials to the National Office;
8.Distribution /issuing of certificates to schools/private candidates;
9.Receipt and dispatch of requests for result verification to the National Office;
10.Liaise with examiners on behalf of Test Development Division;
11.Assisting with the arrangements for Trial Testing;
12.Offer support services to schools /clients with issues on Registration and result Checking;
13.Sale of publication items and
14.Maintaining and record keeping of all Council properties in the province
15.Supervise staff of various division within the branch office
