April 2016 TO Current: QA Senior Staff Manager, Cavium/Marvell – Pune India

Role: Lead the Pune Team of 11 members and co-ordinate with the US (Irvine) Team of 6 members for all Releases.

Responsibilities:

Review the Scope for New Product Introduction of OS/Server/Device Driver (or) Software Refresh Scope for the Block Release

Work with PMs to formulate a timeline for Marvell QA Feature testing completion followed by an RC/GM release to OEMs primarily Dell/HPE/Lenovo

Provide technical assistance for Ethernet Protocol testing like TCP offloads/teaming/VLAN/SR-IOV/vXLAN/Geneve/RoCE for NIC Adapters on ESX OS Platform.

Provide technical assistance for iSCSI/FCoE Protocol testing for CNA on ESX Platforms.

Provide Technical assistance for FC Feature testing like Storfusion/FCP MPIO/Perturbation/NVMe/NPIV/Zoning/VMID/Boot from SAN for various OEM / Channel branded HBAs on ESX OS Platform.

Validate and Certify Marvell developed VMware Application Plugins.

Handle Lenovo/Hitachi and Fujitsu OEMs to plan Marvell release schedule to align with their server platform release schedules. This involves scope of test plans for all three OS’ Linux/Windows/ESX and BIOS components and achieve the deliverables on time.

Post block release, run a postmortem analysis of the success / challenges of the program, take measurable initiatives to resolve the gaps.

Work closely with VMware Development and Certification teams to understand their future releases and features in pipeline.

March 2011 TO Mar 2016: Engineering Integration Test QLogic/Cavium – Pune India

Role: Senior Test Engineer for Device Driver Testing of ESX Operating System. This also includes validating the Application API and Management firmware interfaces to the Driver.

Responsibilities:

For a new feature release, new Server Platform release of OEMs, new OS release of VMware, create and implement Test plan on various models of the CNA. Work with development to resolve the issues reported and release a feature complete component to QA.

Build multiple configurations for feature coverage for a complex Matrix.

New Features tested were NPAR (Network Partitioning), SR-IOV, vXLAN, Geneve, teaming on Ethernet protocol.

VMware Virtualization features like vSphere/ vCentre / NSX-V/ NSX-T were deployed and incorporated for testing many features supported by our NIC / CNA adapters

Develop sanity-oriented shell scripts to plan overnight and weekend runs.

NEW OS releases that were tested were ESXi 6.0/ESXi 6.5.

For software refresh cycle, create and implement Test plan for regression.

Interoperability Test with Management Firmware.

Link Interoperability Testing Between NIC and Switches.

Execute internally developed Automation test suite for Sanity and Regression coverage.

Provide training to new team members and give product knowledge and scope of Test involved.

Application testing which involves validating the tools provided by VMWare and tools built inhouse (ESXCli Plugin, viPlugin, PowerKit).

Review Test plans with the Development team to ensure there is no gap in the feature coverage.

Attend ESX development team calls to understand the feature implementation concepts, discuss in depth on the bugs raised and understand the fix being provided to plan testing around the fix.

Feb 2000 TO Feb 2010: Inrange Technologies/CNT Technologies/McData Inc/Ulticom Inc – New Jersey USA

Role: Started as development Engineer, moved to System Test on Fiber Channel Technology for CNT/McData/Ulticom.

Responsibilities:

Work on TLV coding scheme for Inrange.

Develop features like Zoning /RSCN for Fibre Channel switches for CNT.

Test same features as a system test engineer on McData switches.

Create Test Plan and Execute Feature/ Sanity/Regression/Interoperability Testing.
