Senior Engineer/Lead Cost Analyst

Was budget coordinator for GGNS from 1992 to 1997 for first the Engineering department and then later for the entire site. Perfected a cost control software for our department that was later modified and used for the entire corporation. Was also heavily involved in scheduling and using work breakdown and cost codes methodology. Co-authored a white paper on improving the tracking of cost for project management use.

• Integrated financial and scheduling forecasts to improve design engineering estimates.

• Completed a detailed evaluation of the cost of Engineering services comparing using Entergy employees vs. contractors; this was used as a model for the other sites evaluation.

• Chaired the cost reduction committee; received excellent appraisal for facilitating two Total Quality teams; Reduced the man hours used in the budget process by 40%.

• Was the lead on implementing a site wide contractual commitment tracking process that doubled the productivity of this process, eliminating 2 people from a 5- person organization, and greatly improved the accuracy with the capability to control spending of a $100,000,000 budget within a $100,000 variance.

• Developed process to schedule implementation of the modification during the design phase; saving an average of ten modifications a year (or $200K per year).
