Position Requirements: Learning the proper way to fold napkins. During my time with this retirement home, I helped prepare cold dishes, such as; salads and to brew coffee. The choices for the shifts were in the morning or afternoon. I had worked both options. Each shift as a server, we would first attend a meeting the first handful of minutes and go over the preprepared menu. We were required to wear a bowtie as part of our uniform and tie up any loose hairs. I served the residents in my dining area. I had gotten to know all of their names and kept them engaged.

Position Requirements: Welcome customers and answer any questions. I would ring up customer transactions and answer the occasional phone call. I helped to organize the salesfloor. I would help decorate for holidays, especially when it was time to get trees for Christmas. After 6 months I was starting to both take transactions and assist in customer’s returns. I was taught how to properly count money in billfolds up to a couple thousand dollars. This is where I first learned to count a drawer.
