I have been able to gain skills and experiences in care of patient in critically ill in intensive care unit and also those in Renal unit department depending on the patient needs.
September 2021- April 2022 During my training in higher diploma in critical care I have worked in various department in Mater hospital where I gained various experiences and skills in the Renal unit department, whereby one is able to take care of patient undergoing dialysis. Catheterization lab where diagnostic and interventional cardiologist procedure are carried out. Critical care unit where one is able to care for critically ill patient and intervene appropriately according to patient need. Theatre department where one is able to gain skills on how to give anaesthesia to patient and the reversal of anaesthesia. Casualty department where one is able to recognise emergency cases that require medical attention as soon as possible

During my attachment I was able to gain my competences by, assessing the patient’s mental status, use of language that shows consideration thus not provoking the patients, establishing good communication with the patients hence creating interpersonal relationship between a nurse and patients to meet their well-being of mental state.
Kiambu level 5 Hospital: 3rd Dec to 28th Dec 2018
At Kiambu level 5 hospital I was able to learn the duties of sub-county public health nurse which included, assessing and planning nursing care requirement, organising workloads for nurses, supervising junior staff and also supervision of the vaccines where they were kept in in cold chain to ensure it potency of vaccine .I was able to practice my skills at maternal child welfare by giving of immunisation to the babies and also family planning to mothers. I was able to perfect my skills in deliveries of the babies to ensure good outcome of mother and baby.
Akachiu Health Centre Hospital: 28th Jan to 29th March 2019
At health centre I was able to provide preventive and curatives for diseases such as poliomyelitis by giving vaccines to the children and treating minor ailments such as cough and tonsillitis was able to conduct deliveries since I had perfected my skills at Kiambu referral hospital.
