Vice President/Director Rates Trading and Proprietary Trader

Head of Canadian Rates Strategy

Responsible for Canadian Rates Strategy, publishing more than 2500 trade ideas and analyses during years at Merrill Lynch.

Provided strategic support to enhance key client relationships at the request of corporate sales departments, including participation in several international road trips as the Canadian market expert. Co-ordinated and provided analytics, trade ideas and relative value analysis in the areas of fixed income, rates, credit, swap trading, debt capital markets, origination, structured products-for for both domestic and foreign sales.

Analytic Tools and Database Management

Designed, built and managed the most extensive fixed income database in Canada for use by Merrill Lynch Globally and selective clients.

Included data on Canadian debt, swaps, commodities and economics.

Conceived and helped develop the Merrill Lynch Analytical Plotting System (MAPS) which originally included only Canadian and some US information but has grown to include most ML global regions and provides hundreds of high-tech analytical tools.

Proprietary Trading

Consistently achieved profits of $3+mm/year using on average $500k in ML Capital with no negative months of trading.
