My goal is to reenter the workforce after a forced retirement due to an illness. My last employment was with Mitsubishi Power Systems as a broach operator, prior to that I was employed as a CNC operator in the manufacturing of the locomotive braking system. I was employed with Honeywell aerospace for fourteen years as broach operator, CNC machinist and team lead. My CNC training began in the late 1980s with the Hass mill machines where I learned CNC programs, setups and production.

EXPERIENCE

FROM THE LATE 1980S TO THE EARLY 1990S.

MACHINIST, The torrington company

At the Torrington Company I became proficient with manual mills and lathes. Torrington primarily manufactured components for the steering column of automobiles with ford being its primary customer.

FROM MID 1997 TO LATE 1997.

MACHINIST, honeywell international

At Honeywell I worked as a temporary employee with CoreStaff Acquisition operating vertical and horizontal broaches for AlliedSignal which later became Honeywell International.

FROM LATE 1997 TO MID 2011

MACHINIST, HONEYWELL INTERNATIONAL

At Honeywell I worked as a broach operator after being hired fulltime and was later moved to a production cell to operate the CNC mill, grinder, lathe, or broach as needed. I was later promoted to team leader where I acted as liaison between management and the engineering staff for the cells that I lead. At Honeywell, we manufactured parts for the Abrams Tank and the Chinook helicopter engines.

FROM MID 2012 TO EARLY 2012

MACHINIST, BOSCH REXROTH CORPORTION

At Bosch Rexroth we manufactured components for the hydraulic braking systems. I worked with Bosch for a brief period before receiving a job offer with Mitsubishi Power Systems in Georgia.

FROM LATE 2012 TO 2018

MACHINIST, MITSUBISHI HITACHI POWER SYSTEMS AMERICAS INC.

At Mitsubishi my job was to operate a horizontal chain broach and support my coworkers during lifts and setups. The job started on a temporary status that resulted as permanent employment. The job was ended because changes in my health of its status as heavy equipment operator and using overhead cranes lifting parts in access of 1000 lbs. My ability to operate CNC machines is a skill that I possess and I’m looking forward to returning to the workforce. I was offered a position as process improvement engineer but had to decline that because of health issues.

I entered the University of Phoenix in 2006 to study business while employed with Honeywell International. My classes were online and required a discipline to manage rest and a proper diet to establish a study pattern that would allow for a positive work performance and meet class requirements. I earned an Associates of Arts in Business with a GPA of 2.87 in 2009.
