WORK HISTORY

Sailed as third and second mate aboard merchant ships, for 9 years. 1963 at age 23, I built a 5-bedroom house in West Dover, VT (Mt Snow Ski area) 1969 became Licensed Vermont Land Surveyor, #58 for 50 years. Worked for Vermont Lumber Corp., in charge of engineering and surveying, in West Dover, Vermont

1967 As a sub-contractor to VLC did snow plowing (7 miles of road) 25 driveways for about 8 years using a Mercedes Benz “Unimog” (snow plow + snow blowers). Worked for Looney Construction, as foreman putting in foundations for the Dover Elementary School, during severe winter conditions. Built elevated swimming pool. (Deck 22’ off ground) West Dover, VT. Built outdoor full-size hockey rink. (refrigerated). Wilmington, VT. Winter 2012 worked at Maine Maritime Museum (Volunteer) and helped build Chesapeake Duck Boat (on display at the Museum).

Built my own 16-foot Grand Banks Dory at the house in Bowdoinham. Worked at L. L. Bean Oct 2019 to Jan. 2020, sales (part time seasonal employee). Worked at SEARS Jan. 2020 to April 24, 2020. Brunswick, salesman (store closed). Fall of 2022, built 17-foot Maine White Cedar strip-built kayak, from plans. Currently for sale.
