Program Manager, Curator Back of House Nursery Facility Provided expert recommendations, consultancy, and direction for the 20,000 sq. ft greenhouse space and over 2,500 sq. ft of exterior temperate plant materials. Developed all section standards for quality and healthy collections, conducted research and developed IBM strategies, and propagated plants for distribution both internally and externally.

Oversaw cultivation and propagation of 4,500 plants which included angiosperms, conifers, ferns, and mosses as Horticulturist, and provided instructional support in the delivery of living specimens for departmental courses such as Introductory Biology, General Education, Plant Taxonomy, Plant Anatomy, Plant Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, and Ecology.

• Held accountability for safe operations of the greenhouses; inventory of hazardous substances, collected Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), facilitated training to assistants on pesticide usage, respirator checks, and physical health examinations. Conducted inspections on daily operations along with eyewash stations and fire extinguishers.

• Collaborated with the public relations department on the promotion of “The Blooming Corpse” exhibit and conducted interviews with ABC, NBC, CBS affiliates, and NPR.

• Developed plant media, the most expensive and most environmentally friendly with 100% of potted epiphytic orchids growing exclusively in rubber tire mulch.
