PR SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Design, implement, debug and maintain all aspects of real-time embedded software for network switch and router using C++ and vxWorks.
Designed and Implemented P2P (peer-to-peer) bandwidth control, VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol), ECMP(Equal Cost Multi Path) routes within vxWorks IP stack.
Partially designed and implemented code for multiple router interfaces.
Coded software to actively install Routes, ARP’s, Interface’s on multiple line cards as they get created on control card and to distribute ARP’s that are learned on a line card to other line cards present within the system using inter-process communication messaging.
Interfaced third party OSPF code to vxWorks kernel. Coded several other minor functionalities.
Helped with integration and resolving system wide issues such as memory fragmentation, memory leaks, and other “bugs” encountered during packet processing, using tools such as Ixia and Tornado, in a timely and efficient fashion.
Profiled system performance and identified “bottle necks”. Significantly contributed towards improving system performance.
4/93 – 12/94 E-Systems-ECI Division St. Petersburg, Florida
ENGINEER III
Performed all phases of software development from requirement analyses through integration testing and documentation for multiple computer software configuration items.
Application level software development was mostly done in Ada language, on VAX/VMS host for the VAX-ft target. Utilized case tools and STP (Software through pictures) for development and management of software and documentation.
Some of the many accomplishments include development of software for automatic crypto update throughout the network, monitoring messages, and graphics software using REGIS for displaying SCIS equipment, network connectivity and media connectivity status.
