Personal profile

I am a confident, enthusiastic person who seeks for opportunities to allow myself to excel. Since graduating I’ve had a goal to visit new places, live in other cities and learn a language. Whilst wanting to succeed in this for my personal life I have also gained 3 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language. Managing classrooms across all age ranges has given me core responsibility, organisation and leadership skills which I know has put me at a greater advantage. I’m seeking a career change due to a need for new challenges in a fast-paced environment. I'm eager for new knowledge and want to use my degree skills of communication, analysis and problem solving. In addition, my teaching skills of empathy, proactivity and ability to improvise on the spot to progress my career to the next level.

Instructing and presenting skills in my own classroom has allowed me to share subject knowledge to all ages. I confidently use the interactive whiteboard to engage the students as well as using the tool to compliment the structure of my lessons and make them visibly stimulating.

My management skills have continued to grow with another year in teaching. I am able to lead projects, organise games and monitor their performance with exams and assessments. It’s important for me to encourage students to keep their motivation across the academic year and to succeed as they deserve.

Excellent conversational skills has given me the ability to maintain a conversation across a wide range of topics, due to being a good reader of people I quickly spot their interest and design a lesson on the spot to suit their needs.

Adaptability skills to meet people for the first time and withhold an engaging hour lesson despite having no knowledge of their level. I am quickly able to gage within the first five minute what they need from me and how I can provide a stimulating lesson.

Interviewee skills. Many students use Cambly to practice for interviews in English. My confidence and ability to show interest allows me to get into role to encourage students to perform to their best.

Studying at a Spanish University expanded my knowledge on teaching English as a foreign language to be able to teach higher levels, varied groups, techniques for teaching online and to studying how different brains work and retain information when learning a language.

My cultural awareness, confidence and independence grown, as I tried to study the Spanish language in more depth than ever before.

Assisted teachers in English classes from the ages of 3-14 years old as well as having my own Cambridge English classes. I planned activities to help students improve their reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. I offered additional support alongside teachers as well as conversation practice with the Spanish teachers. I helped tutor students with exam preparation as well as conveying British culture into the curriculum.
