Involved with the initiative of creating a BI Analytics solution of Event data to provide insights of the customer Journey, Subscriber Lifecycle, Deep Discount Purchases and showing the events that lead to it.

Responsible for data modeling and to set the standards and create a central repository of all the model’s information.

Established data modeling standards, naming conventions, abbreviation list & data type mapping between various environments plus kept a close watch on the progress and educated the developers whenever the model standards have been compromised.

Manage the central Naming Standards file for abbreviation in Mart Admin on ERWin WorkGroup Server.

To ensure existing data/information assets are identified, stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise.

Involved with the PWM group’s initiative of creating a BIGDATA data warehouse of information to be fed in to the Enterprise data lake of GS, while replacing some legacy systems plus cleansing and retiring unused data to provide quality feeds to the consumer systems with much faster speed.

Created Account, Product, Reference data, Portfolio & Performance subject areas mapped from various feeds such as CPDB, IPR, All Products, Prime & AMS/AMR. Did gap analysis with the data requirements of downstream consumer systems such as Digital, Strats &MIS.

Created the data models for Raw, Refined and Curated stores hosted in Azure Sqlserver.

Modeled the entities and worked with the developers in creating the required DataStreams to dump the Source extracts in to Raw Store, then creating Manifests to ingress data from Raw to Refined Hadoop DFS store and egress from there to the Curated store on Sybase IQ.

Worked on home grown service layer framework called PURE, to create the JSON’s of all the modeled entities and data store definitions and JSON to Store mappings.

Managed the PURE structures, data models (Conceptual, Logical & Physical) and the data dictionary using Sybase Power Designer 15.3, Aqua Data Studio, Astah Professional, Excel & Perl Scripts.

Used HIVE queries to check the data stores and data population. Applied partitioning strategy with in BIGDATA Hadoop store using the concept of Cluster Replacement trick.

Merrill’s Statements & Tax Reporting technologies have major revamp in its data storing standards by moving relational from VSAM to DB2. I’ve been thoroughly involved with this gigantic move from scratch analyzing the existing data structures, storage & processing methodologies and identifying the various elements to be retained and transformed, while retiring the unnecessary & redundant information along the way.

The statements system creates both Consolidated (Summary and details of all annual transactions) and Supplemental (Summary and details of Fixed Income data) statements for the customers. The tax reporting piece generates several regulatory tax reports to be filed with Federal and State agencies.

For both mainframe DB2 Z/OS & Oracle 10G database systems, created Conceptual, Logical & Physical models for various subject areas each covering around 8 to as many as 50 entities.

Created materialized views for rendering aggregate data, to speed up the performance. Created complex views to support the reporting needs.

Created a clone database for all reference tables in MS Access, using the generated DDL from ERWIN. Helped the development team by creating & managing a master look up reference database in Access tables, and load the same to development environment using the Query Scripts & Link tables feature of Access. Used the same approach to manage developer’s data transfer needs between DEV, QA & PROD environments on Ad-hoc basis, where exclusive load/unload jobs do not exist.

Developed and tuned lot of Queries for Views, Developers and Stored Procedures, taking advantage of Graphical Explain properties of the Toad.

Developed & fine-tuned a new project in Oracle PL/SQL Packages and Procedures using the features of collections, indexed global temp tables etc. for rewriting the existing mainframe based Annual IRS & State Reporting with too many cumbersome jobs and no flexibility for the business users to trigger the jobs.
